You get no props from armada man. they didnt even put u on their am team and u have more rail steez than anyone else on the team and ur backcountry skill is up there with ant and jp. ur seg in war was killer and u had the best seg in booter crunk in my opinion. Im only 16 and i dont know anything about how the ski industry works or what perks armada gives u but i definitely think u should start lookin around for another ski sponsor that will give u the recognition that u deserve.
I give big ups to the kid that created this thread: He did not just come in like what the fuck Armada blah blah blah. He stated that he didnt have much knowledge but thought Zach D deserved a little more credit from his ski sponsor- good shit
i think that it is awesome to see new riders come onto the scene that are over 16 years old. it seems like all you hear about these days are the new kids who are sophomores in high school. props to guys like zach holding it down for those of us who are 20 and over.
^ it definitely would be cool to be a young pro but now it seems that companies are just stacking there teams tons of little hyped out 13 year olds in hopes that one of them might be the next tanner
Heed, Zach, Dante... all great skiers. But it's a team system that operates a certain way. So it's more or less a contractual thing. You'll notice they did put him on their masters team last year.
The whole AM shit with the Armada team kinda pisses me off. It is like they are degrading them, even though they are at least as good as those on top. Shiller is way more progressive at this point than say JF Cusson.
zach d deserves alot more than what he gets. he is the king of switch-ups, and is just an all around ill skier. and on top of all that he seems to be a truly nice guy, which can be rare among young kids getting lots of attention. not letting it go to his head speaks alot about this kids character, and his skiing speaks for itslef, i expect to see this kid on top soon.
^ I thought the switchups were by far the worst part of that seg, just excessive... one on an urban jib = sick, 3 or 4 in park... this isnt figure skating guys.
zach is a quality skier and everyone knows it. The Armada team is kinda wierd with who is a "pro" and who is an "am". talk about it all you want but he seems to be happy and he can make his own decisions
if what the maker of this thread says is true, and he is not even listed as an am that is wack.
zach davison is definately am, and i wonder how the hell tj schiller is not pro yet with all the comps he has won? if a company hasn't made him pro by now, i wouldn't be surprised if he switched sponsors, if i owned a company that dude woudl have been pro this season for sure.
this means zach davison is a flow rider for armada? that doesn' tmake sense im sure there are tons of ski sponsors taht would recognize him as an am. just weird i think.
How fucking stupid are you kids. its been said in here at least twice. the way the team setup, flow, am, and pro, is all structural. they cant just say "oh wow you won some comps this year, good job, were moving you to the "pro" section." They do not just put people whereever they want to, its BUILT INTO THE CONTRACTS. thats how the system works, theyre not just names for groups. basically everyone whos bitching about this is completely fuking clueless. just stop talking if you dont know what youre talking about.
that doesnt make sense man, so hypothetically ur saying if t hall signed with armada when he was 15 on a 5 year contract as an am but won the x games pipe and slopestyle he would still be an am until the contract was up after five years. no, if he won the xgames they sure as hell would make him a pro the next day
the point of this thread was to compliment zach and acknowledge his skills as a skier, not get into the intricacies of the armada conract ladder. zach is a sick skier. game over. shut up.
how bout everyone takes a cooking course from mr zach davison. one of his most hearty dishes is probably some breakfast style buritos.. with a bit of spice to them..
i was just informing arsix that his argument was illogical, i dont know anything about the politics of contracts and stuff but i know that if someone hits it big and his contract says he is an am they are gonna make it say pro
I am still confused by the whole armada "Pro/ am team" tj is one of the best skiers in the world, and most of the other guys, nooffense they are still sick skiers, but past their prime...why not take a chance on a guy like Zach, or at least put him on the am team...
gad ya know what I think, I think your all missing the point of skiing, its for fun!! and maybe zac davison doesnt care as long as hes doing his thing, yes I am one of the 13 year old kids who wants to go pro ofcourse and I think your wrong that kids like us cant go pro we can. but skiing is for fun so whooo gives a fuck!
