I am posting for a friend. He hasn't skied all that much, but he wants to start getting into it. He "skis" alright (in terms of carving, etc.) but isn't very aggressive and hasnt really done any tricks. He wants to get a pair of twin tips this year. He'll probably progress quite a bit so he needs a ski that will help him progress, but he won't outgrow it by the end of the season. He weighs 145lbs and is 5'11". With all this in mind, I was thinking he should get something fairly soft, such as the 1260, fugative, or invader, but i wasnt sure exactly about any of those, and I wasnt sure which length to recommmend. Open to any other skis, lengths, and suggestions. THANKS
PE's, that was my first twin and absolutly love them. I really would not go with a really soft ski to start with, they would work fine. but a little stiffer is nice, especially since he will be doing lots of time just skiing all over the mountain and trying to learn differnet things. oh and a 175 and up is the size to get.
my first twins were salomon 1080's they are a good ski thats pretty durable. just im a light and shorter rider so i dont know how they would do for a larger taller person
I think the 04-05 1080's would be perfect. They are durable, less expensive and will last for awhile. I never had a problem with them in park and they perform pretty decently out of park. You can carve, put it that way.
