Been skiing for years, recently decided to get into the park/jib scene. Just bought a new setup, looking for some feedback.
I'm 5'11, 165 lbs. Got 171cm 04/05 1080's (the ones with wings) with matching 1080 pro boots (the silver/black ones).
Mounted last years Rossi Scratch 200 bindings at core centre.
I'll be riding mainly at Edelweiss and Tremblant.
what's the deal?
bring on the snow...

That's short, but not too short for a beginner.

I would have gone bigger. especially since you weight 165 and those are soft skis, but you will still like them.

i think they are a little short, especially for core center. but its ok for a beginner. once you get better, you should buy skis that are as tall if not taller than you

i got the same skies (04/05-1080's)last summer... good ol T&L summer sale in ottawa-- anyone from that area knows what i am talking about... anyway.. thinking bout mounting them core center.. newb question.. but thats the little line that saloman have already marked out on the ski right??>?>?

Yeah, core centre is where the line is marked. To tell you the truth they didnt ask me where I wanted them mounted. But because I'm used to carving, I think its the right spot...it should be good to preserve some of the all-mountain capability of the ski. Because they're short, shouldn't be too bad for spin weight or balance.
I'm just hoping they dont chatter too much.

I hate to open up a can of worms, but I gotta do it.
Someone just advised me that had I mounted salomon bindings instead of the rossi's, the warranty would be twice as long. I didn't find this out until after I had the skis mounted.
So my question is this: Can some people who have actually owned the skis give me the lowdown on their durability? (i.e. foam core/edges/delamming)
Thanks for the feedback...and bring on the snow.

This is true putting on salomon bindings on salomon skis extends the warrenty by 1 year i think.
and by the time those things are destroyed your going to want a new/longer ski anyway.
They will be dead after 2 seasons generally, unless you baby them, but you didn't buy them to do that.
