How much longer do you think the park is gonna last? They have to close almost everything at the end of each day because the inruns and landings are so rutted out.
Grant has proven that he is way too gangsta for his skis/bindings
He needs something burly
This season fucking rules so far, I've already learned a bunch of new shit, I'm stoked
also Stevens needs to build a REAL 60-70 footer and keep it immaculate all season long. The only place you could really get speed for it though would be to put it where the boxes are right now. So you could hit the waterfall, hang a left and then hang a right, go over that gnoll where they usually build a small jump and hit tha money booter. It should be their pride and joy.
yeah ive seen that box....can you say burley?? but what makes it even more intense is that its all hollow and stuff, so if you fell off those banked c's youll go right underneath the box, like inside of it....crazy. it can fit a CAT underneath it
seriously, i never understood why they dont build a big ass jump there. sure, people cant cut over to the pipe as much, but then again, most places (ie mammoth, june, etc) you have to choose whether you are hitting jumps or pipe. they could fence it off and have a delightful lane going right into it to keep the gomers out. that would be prime. a nice lofty 70fter, and yes, a real 70 feet
i have a feeling that stevens wouldnt build a true 70 footer during the season, they'd be to scared that people would get hurt on it and stuff - but then again, they did build that burley ass channel gap....what was it measured out at, like 73 ft from lip to landing if you actually channeled it...something like that.
hah yeah 70 would be nuts/sick. at least they should build some flow lines up top, put up all their rails, and push the big kicker back a bunch by xmas break. thatd be nice
Stevens is going to get crazy when the snow accumulates, they planned on building up a steep landing for the waterfall and building a lip on it, they might put the wallride up, and they still have a bunch of old features they can play around with. Also, the mountain doesn't owe any money this season so all the profit is going back to stevens' and the park crew will have more money than they've ever had in the past to improve the park. PEACE
i really hope they get the transfer again, that was sick, but they should start the gate back further so you have enough speed, i remember i had trouble getting enough speed to hit all the jumps a couple of years ago.
So I had a nice little talk with Chris from the park about gapers and safety issues with the gapers. He explained to me that the reason the the landings are never steep enough is because the mountain does not consider the park to be a priority place to use the one and only winch CAT. I find that very unfortunate and believe that we should try to help by sending some emails explaining how steeper landings are safer and such.
We also agreed that the best place to build the super booter would be on that nice steep area in between brooks and that batch of trees right above the pipe. A nice 60-70 footer right there would be incredible.
But fuck it, I'm over Stevens and that fucking highway. I'm sick and tired of being stuck behing minivans going 45 the whole way. Snoqualmie needs to get some snow, because I know they won't let me down.
Oh fo sho, 60 is huge, but if we had one we could hit regularly it would start seeming smaller and smaller. And I'm finally at the point in my skiing where I'm ready to throw 9's and switch 9's, and I really want that opportunity
hmmm they really do need to wake up and see the potential of park. big jumps with big landings are key (ive said that enough) and there is terrain to do it. snoqualmie can build some sick jumps, but it shouldnt be the only place.
shit the park was busy this past weekend (granted it was filled with idiots) even though it was late november. it consistantly has large amounts of people.
one thing is certain, they should be happy to keep many idiots confined to one part of the mountain, especially those who bring them money. it shouldnt be rediculous to bring the winch cat over, could bring them more money and recognition, which means: more money. and thats the name of the game no?
the park is the closest distance for the winch cat to travel anyways...
i agree with you that once they have a deep enough base, they should definatly build some sizable jumps...but as you can see, as of now, they are sitting on about 8 inches in some of those steeper areas. they ARE going to make the waterfall landings steeper as we get more snow accumulation, it just takes a little time. if we had super steep landings right now, we would most likely be landing on dirt. their plan is to progressivly add more lip to the jump and steeper landings as the snow accumulates some more
yaa, they need to do some regulating on gapers. once they get brennans trail up, most will head down that way, but it was sketchy this weekend with everyone in there
^agreed. gapers make me nervous because when one decides to drop (and not call it), they all decide to drop in one big line. then fall on the inrun, fall off the wedge, or they just stand on the deck, ready to cut into someone's landing. scary stuff really.
then they get all up in grant's face and grant yells at him and calls him an idiot, and christine is scared that the boarder will take his board off and decapitate grant. the end.
Haha, he was also telling me how they wanted to put up a line of like 5 fifty footers up in the top area. I told him that was a horrible idea, just keep em down to like 35-40 feet so you can actually hit em, and balance it out with a 70 footer down lower where you can get speed.
five 50fters?????? theyre nuts. looking bad i was amazed they ha what they had up there, and it barely worked. they could build like jumps near the bottom and stuff. they could, dare i say, expand the park over??
and if that dude wanted some shit, my jps have little swing weight, he would have been all ruffed up and shit. and i would live!!
oh, and grant has already yelled at 2 random people this season. i've never seen him yell at anyone, much less at someone he didn't know. crazy experience.
