Snowboarding vs Skiing.

I feel as though skiing and snowboarding are so close to each other, that they are almost the same thing. I think the 'divide' between skiers and snowboarders is quite silly when the two are so paralell. I wish that there were more progressive movies with skier riding with snowboarders and just having a good time. I mean, we're all standing on boards, sliding on snow, lets all be friends.

agree - all my buddies that go to the mtns with me board - about 15 of them or so..

we always joke that i am killing their style (since i am the nerdy skier) or that they are slow... good times

i dont think seperated movies is such a bad thing. it's only natural that you would rather watch what you do yourself. but yeah i ride with alot of boarders, it dosnt matter.

That was showcasing 10 retarded wanna-be gangster snowboarders. Don't forget, skiing has it's share of those too. But over-all we're so similar and both sports have a lot to learn from eachother.

Don't be close minded when you see videos like that... those people that made that absolutely do not represent all of snowboarding.

i dont think we should be freinds to SOME extent. i dont think we should be against each other but you know that sometimes you want to step up so you can prove to some snowboarder or skiblader that you are better than them, i say there is nothing wrong with healthy compition on the mountain

i ride with alot of boarders and it so cool to pull stuff from each sport into eachothers styles neither sport could be wear they are today without the other...combined comps seem a little dumb but a video would be sick

i dont know. i ski with friends of mine that board and they show me new shit all the time. I snowboarded last season and boarding was progressing alot. I also agree with the no hate between the 2.

See i think that there just joking around and having fun. That clip just reminded me of how awsume snowboarding is. Personally i think a lot of the snowboard steeze is amazing and skiing doesnt touch it. But thats only on some of the boarders. I ride with tons of boarders and there the most fun

I'm a snowboarder and I love it. But what I really like about skiing is the style! Seeing those huge crossgrabs is so majestic! Plus, I know a bit JF Houle, so that's how I started loving ski movies!

No, I love snowboard movies, but I prefer ski movies because the best ski riders are from where I come from (quebec) and ski tricks look awesome!

Snowboarding is rad, I personally do both, however I ski probably 75 percent of the time. I personally think each has it's own advantages. Snowboarding in powder though...wow skiing does not compare. Maybe if i had a pair of prophets it might, but boarding in powder is straight nut bustin'. I also think a skiier and snowboarder movie would be sick. I'm thinking Mark Frank Montoya vs. Tanner Hall (in rodney vs. daewon style).

ya, i really don't get all the skiers who feel snowboarding is gay. I have just recently saw some snowboard videos like pop , and whatnot, and i truly have to say, from the jumps they were hitting to the tricks they were throwing, they are probably ahead of skiers. A lot of pro skiers today are even crediting snowboarder s for their style etc...

i dont agree, snowboarders (at least where i ski) all sit on the hill, i know this is a stereo type, but it is a stereo type because its true. thats a reason i hate snowboarders, then when you ask them to move because they're in your way, they get pissed and want to start a fight. I know some cool snowboarders, and they're cool because they're good, they dont just sit down, but i mean, come on, if snowboarders want a better name they should stop acting like they're the shit, because they're not.

I agree with you that SOME snowboarders just sit on the hill and do nothing, but that's only a small amount of stupid snowboarders that don't know how to ride. My friends and I know how to ride with style and we never take the time to sit down on the hill, we just hit the slopes and we have fun.

Lol, they do sit all the time hahaha. But snowboarders are cool, I don't hate. Just some boarders can be lame, only a small amount though and depending on where you ski. Like, every single day of the year I ski with snowboarders. I probably ski with boarders for then I ski with skier's. Every single one of my friends is a snowboarder. Except for the few skiers on my freestyle team.

I agree completely. We are basically doing the same thing. I have lots of friends that board, and I love to ski with them. I will note that that a good deal of that video was filmed at Big Bear, a snowboarding stronghold.

If there was no more progression room in snowboarding why would people still do it? There are no limits to what can be done on skis or a snowboard, and if i am wrong and there is a limit than we will all know it cuase the sport will die. Someone somewhere will always go bigger or add something new into the mix. It's just human nature.
