^ copper is claiming a pipe before thanksgiving... so they will prolly have jumps up too by then, but i was hoping this weekend? i know Snowmass has had jumps on opening day before, so Vail maybe? they got 42 inches this week
I snowmake for Vail and we've yet to blow any snow on Golden Peak for the park. I believe tonight or tomorrow night we're getting things going for Bwana park, the smaller park.
check out copper's cam, it looks like they might have a pipe ready by this weekend, but i doubt it will be up before thanksgiving. i wish they would put in a booter like they did two years ago to keep us occupied when all the bowls and the park is closed.
ok... you cant be serious, every park that has a good park during the year is now open in CO, and not one has a jump? yet copper has their pipe open or opening damn soon? that cant be right, who has a jump? breck?
^ o snap, thank you gabe, finally some good help. Ocho called me today and said that Keystone opened a jump as well... Yay go jibberish and go hitting jumps!
I can't believe I am saying this, but Keystone's jump is actually a perfect pre season jump. It has the best lip and landing of any jump i have ever seen there. I would say it is 35 feet with an inrun that is the right length with zero speed checks. Just bomb down from the drop in and turtle. I think this is the result of them bringing in Breck's jump builder, and hope it is a preview to what we can expect this year.
that's at breck yesterday. it was a pretty icy day, but the jumps werent bad. we didnt get over there until about 3, and we were the only people there. i got to hit them once and next run they were closed for some reason
keystone's looked sick, but it was closed yesterday because of all the snow. i think its bigger than either of breck's, and it has a really long landing.
they also moved their jibs down so that you can reach them from the A51 lift. there were about 15 open yesterday and they were working on more.
I skied winter park yesterday, lots of pow, but when i was riding eskimo i saw a jump off to the left of the lift that looked like it had been perfectley groomed before the big snow
Hopefully Kendrick (at Winter park) will be up soon and they will have a set of 3 medium sized jumps 20-30 maybe and some smaller ones on the left, at least thats what it was like last year...hopefully this weekend at WP
When I was at Keystone this weekend it looked like they were getting really close with this huge kicker that has the landing coming in under the A51 chair. They were still working on some smaller stuff too.
