not necessarily india but the indian subcontenet has the "hippy trail" which was done by shane szocs and a few other dudes over the corse of about 3 weeks
Chereapunji in India has gotten 905 inches of rain a year )its record of course, and a record of 366 inches of rain in ONE month, to put that in perspective, if whistler was to get 366 inches of rain as snow, it could be around 3660 inches, or as much as 14640 inches of SNOW, depending on the temperature, (an inch of rain can be as little as 2 inches of very wet snow or as much as 40 inches of dry snow)
yea its not safe at all, guns are being fired all the time over the border, and cannons also being fired into remote locations of the moutains... where you would be skiing
so i'm indian and i was back there visiting family and apparently there's this place called auli that's supposed to be awesome.. i think tht's what it's called not sure. but i'm sure theres probably a couple of other mountains you can find.... and uh yah, i wouldn't go skiing in kashmir if i were you....
I think there was something about skiing in afganistan in POWDER a few years ago, but my friend went trecking in himalayas and told me that he made the sillyest mistake to leave his skis back home.
