Boot sizing trick

I learned this trick to figure out what shoe size(american) your boots are.
Whatever the size is say 27.5, then you add the first 2 numbers and if it is .0 its a whole and if it is .5 it is half
EXAMPLE:
27.5= 2+7 .5= 9 1/2 shoe size
29.0= 2+9 .0= 11 shoe size

they dont make half sizes in boots i dont think. all the boots marked with a half size are the same as the next highest whole number.

^actually all boots with a half size are the same as the whole size below them.

Also alot of the online places are idiots when they tell you what size to get. I wear a 28.0 in mondo sizing, which "is the same as a size 10 (american)". I actually where a size 12 street shoe. So places like get boards are idiots. If you don't know your size, go to a shop and get fitted, then get them online.

get your boots fit by someone that is a good bootfitter your shoe size and your boot size are going to be different.

yea hes right

a 27 and 27.5 are the exact same shell. the only difference is the footbed.

i hate when people do that. kids come into my shop and make me work with them for like an hour fitting boots... then they ask me to write down what size and model they tried on so they can go order it on the internet. i wanna say "fuck you" and pistol whip those fools as they leave empty handed.

no your all roung say you are deciding between a 27.5 or a 27. They both have the same shell but its the liner thats diff, actually i think thats what you sayed so my bad

Yeah, I have had that a few times. But I'll tell them that I'll refuse to work on their boots when they bring them in for work. And my old manager allowed me to tell one person a month to fuck off, straight up.

But yeah, go to a good bootfitter and get everything done by them. I was wearing boots two sizes too big for years before I knew how to size properly, and now I wear my ski boots a size and a half smaller than my skate shoes.

this is just something to go by but it doesn't always hold true. it's kinda interesting that my dad who wears a nine and a half shoe, i wear a 10 and a half shoe and my brother wears an 11 shoe; we all wear a 28.0 boot

the only diff between 27 and 27.5 is the liner the .5s liner is alittle bigger

in a 27.5 the footbed would be thinner than that of a 27, allowing for more room inside of the boot. Using a thin or thick footbed allows the boot company to get away with make half the number of diffrent boot sizes.

Maybe you should be happy to help a kid out and get him fitted so that he doesn't but boots that'll ruin his season. If he can get them for cheaper wht do you expect? If somethin is like 5 or 10% more in my local shop then yea I'll get that to support them, but I'm not gonna dump another 100 bucks or somethin just to support my shop.

word, the liners are just different the shells are the same on most gaper pro model boots and some good ones.

srry man but i disagree, i work at a shop and i have had that happen, its really annoying, theyre wasting my time when i could be helping playing customers, i also dislike when people come into look at skis and i work on em for 30 odd mins looking at alomst every ski we have and then they decide that they dont wana buy right now, man i hate that

on the half size issue... it depends on the manufacturer! some don't do half sizes... some even do proper half sizes rather than skipping round the problem with thinner/thicker footbeds/liners.

so many people ski in the wrong sized boots! if you ever want to take skiing seriously you need your boots fitted by someone who knows what they are doing! you won't regret asking round for the best and paying the extra!

if you're lucky and have the exactly average foot (unlike me) you'll maybe get away with buying the same boots again on the internet.
