they are all the same. they are a dark greyish sorta blue with orange. unlees these art the skis that are gonna come out next year, i think you making it up.
Adjust your monitor. We are one of the largest Salomon Dealers in the country and there is not 1080 Gun that is Black and Red. There is a Gun S Lab that is baby blue with a little red, but the Gun does not have red.
Dude... come on. Foam core. weak edges. thin bases. plain graphics. EVERYONE and their mom rides them.. over priced. What else do I need to say? Go with a line ski or an Armada or a 9thward or a K2.. or anything else.
Have you ridden them? PR's are so much fun, I'm pretty sure the foam core argument has been officially shot down (just as good, if not better than wood). Yeah everyone has them, because they're awesome skis. Overpriced? How much are jp v juls? Seth viscous? Profits? Scratch BC? VCT? even the MSPs are up there. Powder or fat skis will always be expensive, and the gun is reasonibly priced, especially considering it's reputation. Don't hate on salomon because that's what you read on here. Go ahead buy what's cool.
shut up. the whole foam core sucksthing has got to go. obviously there doing something right with it becuase tons of ppl still buy and love 1080s. i've known many ppl who've had them last several seasons and longer then armadas and watever, foil is the sickest new ski this season? and over priced? are u kiddding me? the foil is an all mountain park ski capable of riding prett much anywere and is priced at 500. look at armada, ther buttery little park ski only tanner model is 575. thats over priced
I don't give a shit what you get. But Just about everyone I know breaks their 1080's and pocket rockets. Over priced... YES! for how crappy of a ski it is. The foam wears out in like a season.. then they are complete noodles the edges are shit. the bases are shit. Why wouldn't I pay $600 for a ski that is gonna hold up for more than 1 season.. armada, line, whatever. You would never catch me on salomons... they are beginner skis (and the pros don't ride the foam core version so don't even try that shit) And its not just what I read on here. I have skied both PR's and 1080's... and really they aren't that great compared to other skis. Have fun on your PR's gaper.
ur retarded man salomon is the shit. i agree with watever his name is....tanner hall armada's r overpriced pieces of garbage. salomon skis and bindings r nice, salomon boots even better
so pretty much your saying that you are a, um, a faggot? i belive yes because salomon has good shit. thaey were the first ones with a frickin' twin tip! oh yeah the pros do ride on the foam version. only the prototypes might have a different core and even then i dont think its gonna be different than the one that they plan on using in the production ski. so just back off dude.
no they don't, you retard. it even says it on their website. the pros haven't riden their shitty ass foam core for years. the labs have wood in them. their high end race skis have wood in them as well. everything other model they make is foam.
as for your claim that salomon had the first twin is also false. maybe you should do a little homework before you type stupid shit.
chill dude, line had the first ski board with twin tips and the 1080 was what i thought the first twin was. if im wrong corect me. i read that a number of differnet places and i read all about how line came into the seen first as a skiboard company. i was wrong to get carried away earlier on give_head, but still just tell me that im wrong. sheesh.
yeah i just watch the both the video on the salomon lab site and checked the tech info there and ont the ski site ant the both say nothing of it. and what was the 1st k2 twin?
yeah oke grey/black orange is also good but what i want to make clear is that the guns are not only blue with yellow/orange.
i think its 185 lenght or not?
well your name is tmaker so we know you cant break skis if you like the tms. if you actually hard you will snap both the skis and the bindings in like a month.
hmmmmm i had 108os for 2 seasons and they werent noodles at all, edges were fine and so were the bases and they were absolutly awesome the best ski ive owned, and i know ppl that have had them for over 3 seasons and they still kick ass. salomon is awesome so shut the fuck up you trendy bitch. youve never rode them so you wouldnt know
another 12 year old kid following what everybody else says. Dude buy what you want, don't give a shit what most people say. And they are like dark gray with orange just for everybody's information. The salomon gun LAB is blue and black.
^man... 12? are you kidding. You're about 10 years off. I'm 22.. i do have the facts and I my opinons are well founded. Ride your salomons for all I care. I was just trying to steer the newb towards a higher quality product. dicks.
no man, your the dick, he obviously wants what he wants, which is salomon. He will learn on his own, and your obviously one immature 22 year old, since you are followign what everybody else does. BTW salomon are the makers of the most tested twin tip ski ever. if your starting out in the newschool scene there is nothing better then the old 1080 ( which is argueably one of the toughest skis ever made). I started out on some old 1080s, and i still have them.
They have been long coverted to rail use, but the point is that they are still in one piece.
well like i said, this guy seems like a newb ( he did not even know the colors) but i just think it is pretty stupid to buy the best stuff off the bat. The man probably can't do butters. Just needs something to get into schooling with. Like i said i will agree they are not the best if you are good ( i have switched to Armada AR5 for park) but if you are starting out, your not gonna need the best.
I think we need a new rule: if you dont have a fucking clue what youre talking about, dont post anything in the equipment forum. Because about 90% of this thread was like concentrated idiot juice. Some of you kids are just so far off base its ridiculous. Just buy what you want to if youre going to be that way, but dont inflict your worthless opinions on anyone else.
I still have my blue ones, great ski, only reason I moved on was because of how skis have changed in 5 years. My brother has 1 yellow one left, i'm thinking of center mounting a blue and yellow to make a tribute set.
yeah man the old twins are the toughest. Me and lateralis both ride the same year skis. Lat rides K2 enemies and i rode the 169 1080 Vinny Dorion promodel. I still have my skis, and he still has his. His are in much worse condition, mine just have the edges detuned. If i could i would try to find that exact ski in a longer size, and so would he.
So you're saying that he follows what everyone else does? If he did that, wouldn't he be skiing on "the most tested twin tip ski ever." Because if it's the most tested, then at least the majority must use it right? And that most tested bullshit worked 4 or 5 years ago, but not really anymore.
yeah and the olin mark IV came out before they all did. What i ment was that he is saying what everybody else is that Armada,Line and Ninthward are the only skis that anybody schould ride. the 1080 is the most tested ski out there, if you like it or not. It has been developped by the fathers of new school. (i.e. Jf Cusson, Mike Douglas, Vincent Dorion)I could go on. It does not mean they are the best, but they are pretty good to learn on.
^ I was just giving examples of higher quality skis for him... I'm not saying thats what he/everyone HAS to ride on. AND you ARE right about them being a good ski to begin on (a lot of us did)..like I posted above..they are a beginner/intermediate ski. If you're f'in awesome you've probably moved on to a wood core of some type.
the old 1080s are noodles, and i've heard of more than a couple of 1080s snapping in half. on the other hand, i know people who absolutely love the PRs.
