And because lets be honest here....Do you think KERRY of all people wouldve handled Iraq the way he has today or GORE wouldve handled 9/11? Grow the fuck up and get some balls

These are my beliefs, which I feel I support fairly well. Not saying I'm right, but this is my CURRENT opinion.

2) Sorry for any typos...I'm about to type fast...My problem with most presidents, as it is just the nature of the beast, is that they are politicians. This means they say what they need to say in order to get the public opinion. They are two faced and worry constantly about how they are perceived by the public. That is why I like Bush so much. He has his own strong convictions and that is what makes a true leader. Sure, I don't agree with everything he does, but he takes care of business and follows thru. Nobody will ever be able to prove whether or not the Iraq war was justified. Perhaps if we didn't invade Iraq, Osama would have dealt with Saddam, acquired access to some serious weapons and then killed your family on their way to work. There is no way to be exactly certain on anything of this nature. Liberals hate conservatives and vice a versa, which means they [both parties] will use what ever they can to validate their own arguments. Had we not invaded Iraq and something happened as a result 10 years down the road then the Liberals would complain that Bush didn't step up when he should have. It's a no win situation, which is why convictions are so important. George W. Bush was selected from the Republican Party to run in the elections of 2000. He ran against Democrat Al Gore. The election was a very tight race. They had to count the votes from the State of Florida to determine who the winner was. In the second term George W. Bush ran against John Kerry. Bush's victory was decisive. Before the day ended the whole world knew George W. Bush was reelected. Many people think he is not the right person to lead this nation. However, I think George W. Bush is a good president because he is solid in his convictions, he loves his country, and he is a good leader.

Again, first off, George W. Bush is a good president because he is solid with his convictions. Before he became a president, he was direct with the "media" in regards of his marijuana use in the past. He says this is the first and the last time he will talk about this. He takes the risk; consequently, he put his campaign in jeopardy with such a decision. Also, in his reelection he came right out and said NO for abortion and gay marriage. He was still elected. The last 3 democratic presidents have changed their views on abortion and gays halfway thru their term because of decreasing polls. I'm not saying gays are not cool and that abortion is bad, I'm saying convictions are what I look for.

Second, George W. Bush is a good president because he loves his country. Since September 11, 2001, he has shown this to the whole world. He is not only a political figure. He shows the whole world he has feelings just like every one of us during his appearance on TV. Eloquence and articulation does not make a good president in my book, but that is just me. When tears came down from his eyes, he is not ashamed about it. In that moment he felt like one of the families members that lost their loved ones. This was the worst tragedy that's happened in this country.

Finally, George W. Bush is a good president because he is a good leader. After the attack on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, President Bush talked to the nation to inform the citizens. He will go after all the terrorists where they hide. He liberated Afghanistan from the regime of the Taliban. When Afghanistan had their election, more than 10,000,000 Afghanis went to vote, and most of the 40% were women. Then he liberated Iraq from the regime of Saddam Hussein. If someone thinks President Bush shouldn't have taken Saddam Hussein from power, it is very simple to get that answer. What about the January elections of 2005 when more then 8,000,000 Iraqis proved that the intervention was good. President Bush did make the right decision to allow them vote for the first time in their lives. George W. Bush liberated them after more then 30 years without freedom.

In short, President Bush is one of the most controversial leaders in this era. However, in my opinion George W. Bush is a good president because he is solid in his convictions, loves the USA, and is a good leader.

What exactly have you based your "own" opinions on? If you simpily formed your opinion without any influence how would you support it with facts. Surely you know enought that you don't belive everything a political group tell you to belive. An yes I do think Kerry would have handeled the war better although most of the damage had already been done, before the election. He would have gotten much more help from other nation because, as we all know, the majority of the world disapproves of the Bush administration. As for Gore why wouldn't he be able to "handle" 9/11? First of all there is a good chance that 9/11 would never of happened if Gore have been allowed his seat as president for several reasons but mainly being that Osama had a grudge against Bush I and when Bush II was elected he got mad. And if it did happen what did Bush do that Gore wouldn't have? It wasn't only Bush's idea to attack Afganistan, most people wanted to. (Oh, and don't mention Kerry not supporing the invasion because he has already appoligised and addmited that was a mistake)

well i guess ill actually get serious on this thread.

Supilot said basiclly exactly how i feel. at work last season, i had extensive talks with my friend dave, who follows politics constantly and has some strong opinions and thoughts about the current presidency. well in talking with him and watching a little news/current events class, ive furnished my own opinions.

I havent talked about politics in quite awhile because i honestly have found it easier to just be a kid and not worry when i cant even vote yet. I support george bush and his actions. all the liberals just rip him up for his decision to go to war with iraq and his lack of articulation when delivering speeches. as supilot said, the speech doesnt make or break the president, but more so the actions. george handeled 9/11 perfectly. there couldnt be a better outcome. anyway you look at it, he responded with quick action in our country.

to go into afghanistan for the war on terror was a decision that deserves some respect. bin laden's al-quaida, a list of trusted ex-soldiers that would be active in carrying out terroist attacks needed to be crushed. the attack on the US led to a libertaion of the afghani people from the taliban, as well as dispersing some of the al-quaida regime. so yes that decision can, in my mind, only be viewed as a postive one.

iraq is different. we dont have all the same information that he had when making his decision about iraq. what you would do if the head of CIA and many cabniet members that you trust are telling you to go into iraq? he had some very real influence that he just couldnt avoid. the decision to actually invade iraq wasnt for oil. that is bullshit propaganda, im sorry. in iraq, those suffering under sadaam recived their freedom. they werent oppressed by a dictator that had committed genocide anymore, but they were free to vote. sadaam wiped out whole towns of his own people. he needed to go. what was in question was if the US were necessarily the ones to do it. as a world superpower that had been attacked, we were looking to continue our war on terror. and a genocide committing dictator that had made threats against US allies would fuffil the criteria of our war on terror.

so we went in. and he havent quit or left because of the need to finish what we started. do you really want to pull out now of Iraq? wouldnt that just show our weakness and inability to accomplish our goals? we gave freedom to the iraqis, but the job just isnt done. to leave now would make this another vietnam. it would be an incomplete job. to stay and ensure a safe country is something that a good president needs to do.

george isnt flip flopping on his ideas. with him you get exactly what the majority voted for- a strong president. what else is there? gay marrige. does that decision really affect you? or like 2 percent of the population. it is something that the average person shouldnt bother getting hot and bothered over. abortion is different, but he didnt just spring the fact that he was anti abortion. its what he said he was. there isnt any use complaining. hes not going anywhere, so instead of finding negatives to exploit, take a look at the postives. there just isnt use complaining. so yet again, i dont bother with politics anymore because some kid who thinks greenday is the dopest band ever and thinks bush is a big cock face is going to jump in there with stuff about troops dying for oil.

there is obviously reasoning and elaboration of this opinion by the more educated liberals, and i respect the views of others that actually have been researched and formulated from a source that isnt the "american idiot" album.

i dont know any other bases to cover on this, and i care more about shortening my poles and if i parked my jeep indoors tonite than about what bush is "babbling" about right now. his decisions are all strong and enforced. hes not worst president, and certainlly not the best, but to me, what he does makes sense. it makes sense for america.
liberals will always have liberal views and conservatives the same. so my answer would be yes i support him for those reasons there.

I think that it sucks that we can't get the facts about anything through the media. most of the shit the media puts out is not true or bends the truth so their ratings are higher. I just stop caring about politics b/c of shitty media.
