i do all park...i skied my 05 fujatives and they were 169 (they come up to the top of my forehead, im 5'8"/5'9"...not much a diff...but the retard at ski mart was tellin me get the 161...they are better for park, 161 is wayyy shorter so its easier to spin but looks wierd...but i guess its personal prefrence...but are 171s worse for park if they are taller then me by a bit?
never ask ski advice online, its stupid. if you knwo skis then you can make your own decision, if you dont, go to a shop and they will give you thier advice.
yeah they know nothing about skis, i went to a one in boston, and i was checking out skis, and the guy that worked there was like u should get TM's, and im like yeah but i was thinking about getting armadas, and he goes, well ive never heard of that company but i wouldnt recommemend getting "armada" because dynastar is a bigger and stronger ski company
That isn't quite the word choice I'd make to describe the ski market. Maybe the salesman, but can a market really have a mental deficiency? Anyways, a lot of salespeople at ski shops don't know what they're doing, just kind of ignore them and let them do their job. Ski length is more on personal preference, not strict guidelines. For example, I'm 6' tall and I prefer using 185cm pocket rockets for park, whereas some people my size use 170ish park skis. It's all just about what you're comfortable with, don't let anybody tell you what you want to ski on.
is it like Sportsmart and shit where they buy other companies skis, slap a even more generic graphic on em and sell them for way cheaper? cause we have those in VanCity and they are not cool.
my bro's skis were just accidentally mounted +3 from dead center at an unnamed very experienced colorado ski shop. Unbelievable, he wrote directions and marked the spot with tape, to no avail.
Sometimes I can't believe what comes out of these guys mouths at the shop - the ski expo was a good example they will say anything to get your pockets open.
All the more reason to go to JIBIJ - unbelievably knowlegeable and helpful. GO JB!
go to small shops where the employees are real skiers. in my experience working in a larger sports retail store, bullshitting the customer when you dont actually know what you're talking about is a big part of the job. most of my coworkers just knew the technical features of the products as told to them by the company reps, but had no real understanding of what was good or why.
