Bruising your hip

so last year i severly bruises my hip off a rail, my entire hip to the end of my knee turned like black.. When you bruise your hip ive heard it just swells up like a bitch and turns black like this, but ive been having pains in lowerback/tailbone for a while now

has this ever happened to anyone? And still my bad hip is still a little bit swollen then my good one.

I shoud probably get this checked out huh?

ha ha I hit a car on my long board like 2 weeks ago such a big black bruise on my hip, it sucks, I roll over on it at night and it wakes me up everytime

ya well im 22 so the older i get the longer it takes to heal..


haha i fell of my longboard like a month ago too and did a barrel roll into some bushes

skateboarding has fucked up my left hip so bad, slammed too many times off too many sets, so it's kind of an ongoing injury, i just ice it sometimes then hot tub or something... maybe put something on it under your pants when you ride so it doesn't hurt so much to fall on

I jumped 20 feet onto rocks and landed on my hip last year and, you guessed it, it hurt like hell! I had the lower back pain for a while as well, but it all went away after 4 months or so. The hip was sore for a good 5-6 months for some reason, so that's not my favorite injury out of the bunch I've had.

yeah last season i decked out in the pipe and fell to the flat and bruised my hip real bad...couldnt walk for a few days and it swelled up and my pants didnt fit. anyways im good now so if youre still feeling it from last season id get it looked at.

Get that checked out man. You shouldn't still be in pain. I'm willing to guess, based on the massive extent of your bruising, that you may have a myositis ossifican.

Formation of ectopic bone following blunt trauma. (especially if this isn't the first time you've bruised your thigh on a rail) Basically calcium deposits and, therefore, bone grows where you got bruised and causes friction. Usually the result of improper injury treatment. The friction can lead to swelling and thus to pain in assiciated parts of the body and also radiating pain to unassociated parts.

Get it X-Rayed. It should be noticeable if this is what it is. Other signs are pain, weakness, swelling, decreased range of motion and tenderness when flexing your knee.

It's not life threatening or anything so don't be concerned. If it is causing you a fair amount of pain, get it checked out. A minor operation will completely fix it. Usually can't operate until a year or so after the fact though because the calcium continues to deposit for quite some time. Although, you are probably approaching a year. So get it checked, I'm not a doctor.

ice it up 2-3 times daily, you might wanna try taking 6 pills of "ibuprofene" ( anti-inflamttory that dosent have much side effect just follow therecommended dosage) for 7 dayz to make sure there is no inflamation down there.

dont ski while taking those pils you'd get huirtwthout noticing
