hell, i'm white as can be, and i'm embarassed to be human. not because of gangasta ski kids, but because...oh dammit i had a point here. How's this? People suck.

isn't that like the devil's tongue or something? My bio teacher in HS put one outside in the hall during drug inspections and the dogs went wild and freaked out.

Because it smells so bad, I forgot that part, even if that's not the devil's tonge, the devil's tongue plants smell soooo bad.

This topic has some of the most ignorant posts ever. I have no problem with the way people are dressing on the hill, it's not my place to judge them for style. If they're there having fun, then who cares.

However, half of the posts in this topic are just ridiculous. To justify wearing a specific style of clothing because "you're a gangsta" and use the diction of the inner-city is just plain stupid. I know a few kids from Brooklyn who would love to talk to a few of you "silver-spoon in mouth" kids. 'Cause in the end, most of you have no idea about that kind of lifestyle.

Wear it because it's comfortable and you like it, not because you feel the need to represent a persona that you aren't and never will be.

i don't get it

i dress the same on and off the hill, and i attend a state University, which means I see black kids every day, and guess what? they don't care that my style is a little thug-ish, in fact they are pretty fuckin cool with it. so shut up and let muthafuckas dress to impress

remember, conformaty is the death of the soul. That means, for all ignorent people (for some reason are all over NS) copying other people images is the loss of originality.I think the reason everyone thinks they are "gangsta" is because they see Tanner Hall talking about his so called "blackness".

Gangster originated for the mafia. The mob was considered as a gang that commits murder, theft and spreads fear. They dressed in expensive suits and ties.
Later, the connotation when to racial gangs. Blacks started the mouvement to protest against the whites. Diffrences between gangs rose and their violence were against each other.Hate formed because of drugs, accidental murder and (rarely) religion.Rap began to be the music prefered by black gangs. Baggy pants were used to store weapons, drug and stolen items.Rap slowly became the music of choice of gangs.Gangs and gangsters were poor!
Now a new wave of posers introducted themselves as rappers and gangsters.They had the girls, the money and the looks. That is were rap changed into today's one track mind music.The language adopted by the posers is "black slang".It was a other way to rebel against society.White kids then started to see themslves as rappers for the music and quickly adpoted the lifestyle.

Tanner follows the new lifestyle. Like he is one of the most influent skiers out there, he imposed rap on skiing, which other poeple reinforced the style.

As you can see nobody in skiing is a gangster.
