How many of you are in college (actually go to class and get good grades)...i'm curious to know how often you get to ski? how many times a week/month or whatever. let me know
my parents went to school in new hampshire and skied after class every day and did well. im at school in pa for my first yr and we dont have snow yet so im wondering the same. i have a mtn 10 min away tho.
i was jus on their website the other day...they have places all over...steamboat..breck...it looks sweet...wen i went to steamboat i rode up the gondola w/ 2 kids that were going there and they said everybody jus schedules classes for night and goes out and skis all day
i will be skiing every day and getting good grades. My school is right below heavenly Ca so im damn close to skiing. I wont ski there though i live on the north shore so thats where il be. prob close to 150 days this year.
I go to college out west and manage to ski 100 days a week and get good grades...granted I dont do much else with my life but if youre happy with that go for it.
I'm at Union College in upstate NY and I'm hoping to ski once or twice a week... But while I'm home on break I'll ski everyday. So that's let's see ~40 days...
i have a 3.5 and i've had 60+ days the past two years. this is going to school in philly, having to drive at least an hour and a half to ski, with a short east coast season. you can ski a lot more than you would think.
ya im wondering that too. like if i go to college right near skiing, or like univ of utah.... am i sitll going to be able to keep my grades up ? thats wat my parents are worried about.
i ski about 190 days a year and take a full course load, but i also go to New Zealand in my summers and come back to school a week and half late every year cause the first week is kinda useless
well im a senior in hs and im going to a community college the first year...but i will get to ski more but once i transfer hopefully to somewhere with a lot of snow
university of ottawa law school, good grades, ski ummmm, almost never apparently. kidding. but you do have to make the most of the urban around you. plus, i watch shanghai six alot, if that counts for anything
i dont know about good grades but im going to jay peak every friday morning and probably coming back around 5 to go skiing at another local hill so pretty much 11 hours of skiing in one day.
and if it is snowing hard then i have to call an emergency ski session and go to the hills with my buddy no matter what i have due the next day.
I go to Boise State and I get pretty decent grades and I get to ski every day... but that is because Bogus Basin is 16 miles from boise and it's open from 10am to 10pm and my classes are out by 10am. so I study for a little while after school then off to the hills..
yea, i could go to the hills anytime i wanted and i WOULD go all the time...if i had a car. 20 dollar cab rides one way are killer. the fare is like 5 cents a second. its messed up.
im thinking about going there or the university of colorado just because they are so close to the mountains. i havent really had a great ski life over here in Washington. i plan to go somewhere that i can ski a lot.
well ski season hasn't really stared, and since i'm just a freshman, i'm just speculating. But i plan to ski atleast 75 days this season. I have a semi-challenging course load next semester, but the mountain nearest me has night skiing, so I can go to class all day, grab a nap, and ski under the lights. I have a season pass, so even if my GPA drops because of skiing, it'll be hard to stop.
i'll drink to that. im hopin' to get ~50 this yr, but only cuz im in the engineering school (wtf?!). in hs i was gettin' close to ~60-70 days a yr. i need to leave cu and hit up cmc.
go to Utah.. i could have skied every day of the season, but i got lazy and just drank a lot when i was in school. i also got used to only skiing when there was good snow.
Live in Utah. Get a season pass at Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Park City, Solitude, Whatever. You could schedule afternoon classes. Ski for three or four hours in the morning then go to class. and then go night skiing later. The resorts are that close. If you don't have a car you can ride the bus to the hill. Season passes get you a free bus ride up the canyons (from the mouth).
It depends on where you go I think. I'm a soph in engineering (with good grades) and i get to ski like once a weekish. But, i dont have much good skiing around me. I think if I had a close good mountain i would ski more.
i'm 2nd year premed @ the ohio state university in columbus ohio. i ski 3 to 4 days a week. i am super busy, and i hardly sleep, but its worth it in the winter.
I live about a hour away from the mountain, but went 30-40 days, while working 40 hours and full time student. its alabout getting good class times. Last year i had a wen. night class, and then three clases on friday.
