Alright, here's how it is. All of you shut the fuck up. Learn to respect each other, and learn how to construct a decent fucking post.
Let's look at this shall we?
Skiingsam69 - There is a difference between a Superpipe and a regular halfpipe. First, let's look at the equipment and maintenence of it. For a superpipe, you certainly have to have dirt work completed before it can go in. If you're from Jackson, this is a must. You may get alot of snow there, but not enough to have a superpipe until the end of February if it's made soley out of snow. The dirt work itself has differences. As KLD said, about an 8 foot difference. A regularly maintained halfpipe has around 8-10 foot walls. It's a well known fact. A superpipe is anything above that. Say, the Big Mtn Superpipe is expected to have 17 foot walls. A SuperDuper Pipe has 22 foot walls. There is a difference. Anybody who's ever riden both types would know this. Please shut the fuck up.
Secondly, the other difference is the equipment used to make the superpipe. A regular pipe dragon is used for a regular halfpipe. It's got a special cutter on the front to make the walls. It is one peice. So a regular dragon has a big enough grooming uh, let's just call it the cutter. The cutter on a normal pipe dragon can cut up to about 10-12 foot wall. For a superpipe, most of the dragons have an extention on them, so they can build bigger walls. Many resorts can't afford a brand new dragon that has a one piece cutter to cut 17+ foot walls, so they buy a piece to make it easier. If your mountain is buying a brand new dragon, chances are it's built to make superpipes. There is a difference there.
Lastly, the operator does come into play. There's a solid answer for what you're talking about. If your pipe operator has no idea what they're doing, your pipe will suck. There is a certain skill to building a good pipe. There you go, your question is answered.
Most importantly, let's talk about your posts.
Exactly how good are zaugg pipe cutters?
were gettin one i guess
KLD answered this. Then you dropped this one on us.
i guess what im really asking, does it come down to ur cutter or the operator? Cause we had a decent pipe last year, so will it be totally gnar this year, or will we be able to tell much of a difference?
Again, KLD answered to the best of his ability. Don't berate him if he doesn't have the exact answer you're looking for. That's why this site is called a community. People share what they have to offer, if he doesn't answer as clearly as you'd like, rephrase your question, thank him for what he did say, or wait for someone else to post something that might be valuable to you. Otherwise, if you're going to post shit like this: ah, why is everybody so fucking stupid?
First of all, if u make distictions between pipes and super pipes, ur a dumbass. Second, im probably talking about jackson since thats where i live. Third, why r u replying if u dont know what difference it will make?
, then you should just refrain from talking all together. Especially if you're going to turn around and back up his response. Your apology wasn't sincere, mostly because you proceded to run your mouth again. Please just shut the fuck up and make the forums bearable.
SensayMaster - What exactly did you contribute to this thread? You told everyone to stop bickering about terminology. Yeah, that's valid, but you didn't need to say it, unless you had something relevant to the thread to post. Looking back at your post, did you? Nope. Second, don't start calling people twats and then continue throughout your post utilizing derogatory language. It gets nothing accomplished. You too sir need to shut the fuck up.
I've been here since the beginning, and you people are making this place suck. Either think before you hit that reply button, or don't contribute at all. Sit back and grow up before you start speaking, let the grown ups discuss everything until you're mature enough to engage in the conversation.
