Well i went up there today, and let me tell you that probably because i've been skiing Whistler mostly last season, I thought it kinda sucked. I used to like it quite a bit and it was my local mountain of choice for the last few years, but between the asian tourists living the vancouverite dream and packing the runs with no skill whatsoever, a lot of really dumb volunteer lifties and employees, a packed lodge where you have to wait just about an hour to get a cold burger,... And you end up soaked because of the wetness of the snow, but i can't complain about that since we're right above Vancouver. The conditions were pretty good, actually their coverage really isn't bad at all. There was a crusty layer below like 10cm of powder, but it was fun and skiable. The snow is good on the groomers, and sky chair wasn't open. No park, rails or setup at all yet. So this mountain would probably be much more enjoyable on a weekday chilling with friends than skiing it on the week-end... I really wanna try Seymour next time, probably way less tourists and from what i heard it's a fun mountain.
okay thanks i have had the same problem with grouse were too spoiled by whistler being so close but i cant get up there this weekend, well it sounds not to bad i might end up going hopefully they get some snow over night.
I went there today for the first time. I gotta say I was a little disapointed. The snow was ok. But it was crowded, and i couldnt see shit all. there was no park what so ever. but then again it only early november so i should just be happy to be skiing. But the lifet tickets there are rediculous, god 38 dollars for a youth. I hope Seymore will be better, although those bastards didnt open today, and i was too stupid to check beofre i left this morning and descovered thye were closed while hitch hiking up the hill. My sour taste of that may have effected my negative attitude towards cypress.
but hey, shitty skiing in november is better than no skiing.
i think that ill go on suday unless it gets warm, and when i called guest services she said that the jibs were not ready yet so hopefully they will be for sunday or latter today.
red and yellow scratchs would have been me, unless there was someone else. Black north face jacket, silver giro flint helmet with many stickers and oakley goggles.
They didnt have anything setup?? I was told by the park crew that they were gonna be setting up for today and my friend who works there got that same info. Hey French Fry, what lifts were you on on friday? or which lifts had the "dumbass liftie" on them? my friend was working, so i just wanna know. not that i or he will care cause he knows hes not that create and tends to zone out at times, but Im just curious.
haha well that's who i thought you were, i was on the same bus as you on the way there at 10:30 one of my buddies even talked to you because he thought he knew you.
