i just found out that snow and cold places make u feel depressed
thats why in norway the suicidal rates are the highest in the world
i still want to ski though

its not so much that as the days get shorter in the winter so there is less vidaman C(could be wrong about c) in you and that makes you feel better so when there is less of that in you some people start to feel like shit

and people need to eat more carbs at higher elevations......

but its the lack of sunlight that feed the depression, so places like co, utah, and tahoe are uplifting as they are mostly sunny days even in the winter.

That winter depression stuff is a prob in the midwest though, im feeling it.

ever notice that most non-skier/snowboarders hate snow? every time someone says that i have an urge to pop em in the jaw, but luckily im able to restrain myself. i love snow. hes right about the lack of sunlight/vitamin defficiency tho, that mixed with a bunch of other factors can cause depression. yay for psych 101.

yeah no its true. i dont understand them, i like it being dark and being able to snuggle up at home in a sofa with a book, with half a metree of fresh acculmilating outside, but there you go. Most people up there also take to the liquid sunshine of vodka

yea dude, its not the snow, its how much time you get sunlight. our shortest day here in anchorage we get about 4 and a half hours of sunlight. and its actually kinda wierd, i do get more depressed during the dark season. not like emo goth depressed, but you can tell a diffrence. im more tired all the time, and i dont really wanna do much besides ski. its wierd. then summer comes around and everythings happy.

yeah, its def sunlight. I graduated from Sryacuse and know all about that shit. I actually thing Rochester is worse though. , it might even be the grey-est city in the country or something with lowest number of sunny days per year.

I love how most people don't love winter. Everyone loves summer, surfing, and wakeboarding. That just leaves more snow. We're really lucky actually.
