To all-
I think that some of the lenght suggestions that have been given are pretty poor. A guy that weighs 180 and skis mostly pack should not be skiing on a 190. 180 at the MOST. If he's going to take the ski to the pow then by all means, a longer ski might be a good idea. There are so many things that should go into a length suggestion its not even funny, do those of you that suggest lengths even consider how stiff the ski might be, how wide the ski might be, what kind of skier he is, what kind of snow conditions he will be skiing. Not everyone needs a 195 to stomp rediculous airs. I ski with some of the best racers in the country quite a few times a year and a 6' 185 slalom racer will be on a ski in the 160's!!!! If you're not traveling at mach 80 and you arent's skiing in deep, there is no way that a 180lb person would EVER need a ski 190cm long, that's not even a legitimate response to that question. But, this is an open discussion forum, everyone is entitled to thier opinions. But if you should respond, please make it a reputable response, not one that doesn't even make sense.
