not to be an ass, but try searching next time you have a real general question.
that being said, i have 1080s, and they are amazing. i've only had shin bang a few times, and they were all my fault for either casing a table or not tightening the power strap enough. almost everybody i ride with has them, and so many people do on here too, i've never really heard anything bad.
lange also makes some really good boots, but they usually run pretty narrow and i have wide feet and the salomons fit fine.
Dont listen to any of these people... with the exception of nomansteven... the best boot for you is the boot that fits your foot. If you want a boot go to your local shop and talk to a bootfitter he will hook you up with a boot that matches your foot shape. Also if you have any pressure points or need any work done to the boots then he'll be able to take care of you.
There is a survey done several years ago in the industry. The results were something like 50% of people are in a ski boot one size to big for them, 40% of people were in a boot, 2 or more sizes to big. That means only 10% of people have a ski boot that fits them properly. Dont be a moron, get a boot that fits your foot properly.
i'm just giving him a place to start, i didn't say any specific sizes. a racing boot could fit his foot fine, but the flex of the boot isn't meant for freestyle. obviously the boot fitting you is more important than buying any specific kind of boot. i was just pointing out that if he tried some 1080s on and they felt fine that they are a good boot. i could be wrong, but i think he was just looking for some models to then try on and see if they fit.
good list except for the nordica beasts. ur usually a pretty knowledgable guy about the boots, but seriously, how can u go and recommend the beasts and the salomon gun pro model at the same time!!! entirely different boots my friends, just go to the shop and put one on each foot, u will c the difference immediately. besides that, very good list, so if u want a nordica, look at the speedmachine lineup, those will support ur frame very well if u try something like the 12.
