No, not ice rails.
PVC or metal. Do they severly scratch up the bases or edges? Anything noticeable?

Peter.you've never skied early season/late season rock runs then
Lemueli got used to dull edges. i tried skiing on my friends chronic wides that were sharp compared to mine and i could not ski. i kept catching edges. i was flying down one of the winding trails at Jay and it was all ice, i was almost fucked and off the edge
hughlorinI'm so glad I'm not the only one who has this problem. I mainly ride a pair of beat-to-shit ar6s. they still rip it all over the mountain on soft snow and courderoy, but the moment I hit ice I look like I've never skied before. I always thought it was just because I suck lol.
Mr.BishopEven when I used to compete in halfpipe I would always keep a second set of skis. Rail damage severely hinders your ability to keep an edge in icy conditions, and as far as I can tell there won't ever be a solution for that. Whatever, its just part of it and rails are really fucking fun.
qyleberryYou got me there! haha I'm from the midwest... I ski Wilmot Mountain, longest run maybe 15 seconds
HC__skierPeople need 2 pairs of skis on hand. 1 for park, and 1 for non-park skiing, That's why park can be a big turn-off if you want to stay gay (ie happy.)
Big_MtnYou really needed to say gay?
_salty_How tf did you find this

What the fuck kind of thread is this garbage.
Hit the fucking rail and go skiing do whatever the hell you want on the mountain. If you suck too much ass and cant ski after hitting a few rails and cracking a few edges than go home.
dan4060Would you want to ski an icy race course or an icy steep on skis that you use on rails everyday and have fucked up edges? You shouldn't. The people in this thread who know what they are talking about. I would love to see you try to compete on an icy race course on skis that have been destroyed by skiing rails, that would be funny.
PeeDuBzzI mean, if you're competing wouldn't you have a pair of race skis? Also if this is the case why would you be hitting rails on your razor sharp racing skis?
PeeDuBzzJust seems dumb to me that someone would ask if rails damage skis, of course they do.
