Excuse me, but I might have to find out where you live and slap you in the face for that comment. Good luck playing slide guitar like David Gilmour, or bending to perfection like the solo on Another brick, or making an epic composition like Shine on you Crazy Diamond OR playing a mean bass like Roger Waters while singing deep lyrics which you wrote about how tortured humans are...
If you are referring to the fact that SOME of the songs are simple to learn, well OF COURSE, but I bet some of the chords of Animals you've never even heard of. Please bear in mind that this whole post is made in respect of a fellow PPP'er and is in no means meant to be incriminating.
As for me... too many bands. Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Grateful Dead, Jethro Tull, Yes, The Who, Rush or Genesis???
Its impossible to say who the best band of the past is. I mean bands who arent together anymore because of obvious reasons, this could go on forever because there are a serious amount of "classic" 20+ year bands.
The bands still exsisting today are definitely comparable, because the style of music has been brought to a totally different level. I think the hip hop influence has changed shit forever, obviously
