for a college application, one of the essays asks who is the greatest intellect of our time. It doesnt define what our time is...so im going to say its after the industrial revolution. Any suggestions?

you arent getting my point. are you trying to say that if someone was tied to hitler in some way that they are bad?..... think of the fact that before the us got in the war officially it still traded for sometime with them.

Good choice kinda, but do you have to argue that she is the greatest? Cuase she is obviously not.
Or do you just have to write a biography?

A great intellect is definately NOT a rapper.
I would have to say Albert Einstein. He discovered laws of physics and chemistery that completly changed the understandings of physics.

For a question like that, i would make it related to what you plan on doing for your major. for example, if you're going to become an artist, pick some famous painter like pollack.

Chomsky yeah thats a good one...
it is incredibly hard just to understand the easy parts of all the stuff he wrote..
The Chomsky hierarchy is a containment hierarchy of classes of formal grammars that generate formal languages

depends on what kind of intellect your looking at. that question is much to broad to encompass it all. and by our time. do you mean in our generation, or the 20th century, or of all time. ??

Write it about yourself. Then if you convince them that you're so outstanding, you'll get in for sure. I'm actually serious, I think you should do that.
