i jumped once, like 25 ft into about 4 ft of powder on the side of a halfpipe. it was roped off and it was all the extra snow that was pushed from the pipe, with like 2 ft of untouched powder on top of that. i sank to about my waiste, it was so scary hahah, but a triple dog dare is not something you can ignore

i saw an episode of real tv on spike about that. they had the kid there talking about what happened. he said that when he was trying to get off the lift his helmet and jacket caught on the chair somehow and he got stuck and carried past the safety gate and was just dangling there when the lift guy stopped it. the helmet strap was strangling him, that's why he was thrashing around like that. the ski patrol guys were yelling for him to unhook the helmet and fall because he would have choked to death. he said that right before he fell he blacked out and that's why he wasn't moving when he hit the ground. he also said that because there was so much powder, the only thing that happened from the fall was that he broke his arm or something minor like that.
