Ive been breaking the brakes on bindings when i bail landing switch ...does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or if i have to buy a new pair what you would suggest buying...
okay... is i know of salomons brakes are quite thick? (correct me if im wrong anyone) so they arent supposed to break bend/break that easy? or did they like pop out of the rest of the binding?
yea sorry the brake itself didnt break...it bent and the keeps popping off the binding plate which has chipped on the markers and bent on the salomons...the last few times out it just didnt go down at all stuck on the board of ski..so no brake on that ski..
i had a friend who had the same problem with his 912's, they never came down to stop his ski. you should ask your rep if there are any replacable parts to mount to possibly fix this brake popping out plate problem. see if you can find any parts made of steel if your excisting parts are plastic. ive got the brake bend problem, but the p18s brakes are so freaking thin.
All Bindings can and will break when landing switch if release occurs. this is because the break has "give" in only one direction. No binding company has figured this out yet. Use leashes not breaks.
leashes are bad on big jumps or big falls in general. if you want to pull a ski right into your head while tumbling, then use leashes.
but most brakes will bend, some will break. perhaps increase your din (if your skis are popping off a lot, especially switch) to help reduce the problem.
markers are bad for bending though
haha. Thats great advice. While you are at it hit yourself in the head repeatedly with your skis to mimic what it will feel like when you first crash big. Fuck breaks real skiers use leashes...
