I have a couple suggestions, I'm just pulling these out of my ass as I go...
1. Make hot threads sticky to the top of the forum. Also, make a thread detailing distinct rules about the forum, and essential stuff to know, like how to post pictures and make text bold and post links, etc, and make that sticky to the top of each forum as well. It takes some space away, but It'd be worth it, to save a lot of 'How do you post pictures?' Type threads from occuring. And also, it would save a lot of Bush type threads from occurring if there were one official Bush thread sticky at the top...
2. Mabye make newbies go through some kind of 'grace period' of like 30 days where they can't make threads. That way they learn the workings of the forum, and we don't have people posting like 9 million threads in one or two days. That may be a bit harsh, but whos to say it wouldn't work. I dunno.
3. Make moderators completely anonymous. Everyone knows who they are. Get some new mods, but don't tell anyone who they are. Make the mods more visible under certain pseudonyms. Where they have the title 'moderator' and their names are classified differently on the Online list. Let the mods keep their own screennames for posting and such, but mabye have one general 'Moderator' account that only mods have a password too, or something. That way it looks like there is one person, but there is actually several people. Most importanly, though MAKE SURE nobody but you knows who they are. The current mods have a lot of friends. They are kinda biased. I'm really not looking to troll here, I feel bad about posting that, considering a couple of the mods are friends of mine. They do a great job, but they don't delete enough. Nazi mods really do make a difference. People complain at the beginning, but in all, it makes a way better discussion place for everyone.
