Centered skis

so i just got my pe's back from the shop, they were getting centered i brought them back home and i looked at them when they're vertical and it doesnt look right, too far back but when i lay them down they look fine, does anyone else see this with their centered skis?

well whatd you tell them when you brought them there to be centered and most techs dont know but core center on k2 skis is actually +12 which isnt marked on the skis

i just said "center my skis", on the sidewall, its written, core center

yeah k2 measures their skis from where they are in contact with the snow so its different then what they have on the scale

no dont remount its not even that big of a difference and four times is too many doint do it

I've said this a few times before but no one has ever really backed me up on it but I'll say it again, I believe that the 'core center' mark on the skis is where the ski balances, making it feel as though your skis is center mounted. Therefore wouldn't a 'core center' (as described above) be better for park and jibbing?

^that is not a new concept, its been around for years, thats why people started center mounting skis in the first place

I believe it has something to do with the sidecut of the ski, not weight balance. Don't quote me on that though.

Ski techs never get it right. I don't think there is a proper industry term for centre mounting.

If I want them to get it right, I say:

"Ok look... I like my skis mounted one inch back from centre. Ignore all mounting points, get a tape measure and a marker. Then measure tip to tail, and divide by two. Draw a line there, and put my boot centre one inch back from that point. Oh, and I want to watch you do it."

Elsewise they ALWAYS fuck it up.

My friend's '05 fujatives balance on his 'core center' mark so thats why I thought that.

Question... I have a pair of Liberty Stealths and am thinking about centre mounting them. They are going to be my park skis, so has anyone had experience or suggestions for centre mounting stealths (good/bad).
