it's taken from stanley park in vancouver. it's kind of tough but i agree some parts look a slight bit crooked, i think that might have been due to error in the tripod levelness when i was panning the camera for the shots

I love the minimalist composition, I wish you'd see more shots with almost 95% sky. Here is another good one. The colours and texture of those clouds is also amazing. Good shot man!

thanks man! i got my inspiration from this guy i stumbledupon, he does all sky pics and theyre incredible! theyre either 95% sky or all sky. beautiful colors. wish i could find him again.

oh makes sense.

I like the silhouette of what looks like a stick structure, wish there was a bit more emphasis on that (gotten closer/centered it, although looking at it again it seems like the woods behind it would have prevented you from capturing all the sunset and colors in the sky)

1 is just a stone, doesn't do anything, if anything I would have put it lower in the frame so that the rock and shoreline didn't overlap. 2, way to red/orange, over-contrasted. 3, still over-contrasted but at least the composition is interesting, I like how you can see up the river, depth is a really powerful compositional too. 4, the bokeh/tilt-shift looks like it was done in post, also not a fan of the faux-square crop with provia colours, if you want it too look like film shoot film. Overall I think that they are very, very over-edited.

Lol

First and last are Portra 400 with an RZ67. 6x7 and not 6x6, so yes, the last one is cropped
Middle two are Ektar 100 with a Nikon F5.

Minimal adjustment in post, with a LOWERING of contrast and some DESATURATION. Ektar and Portra are both saturated films with high contrast. Ektar is known for strong reds and Portra is a little cooler and has awesome skin tones.

Okay well half that is irrelevant because I thought you were trying to edit it to look like film, my bad. The last one looks a lot better in 6x7,

And yeah, ektar is mad contrasted, it's probably my least favourite colour film, so that was a little bit biased. I much prefer portra 160 for mid day.

Haha no worries man. I'm a huge fan of Ektar but that's all personal preference. I'm gonna pick up some Portra 160 in 120 once I finish off what I have now. I've only ever used 400 so it should be interesting.

Word. 160 is definitely different, it's not as warm as 400, still less crunchy than ektar though.

I personally dont like close up tree, far right. Espicially since there is a space between it and the edge of the picture. But the angle is awesome because it gives the stream that tucked away look. Maybe crop it a bit?
