Alright guys I'm extremely new to photography and I just need a couple tips. When I click on some peoples images in this thread they're original sized and HUGE. I've been slightly editing (I try not to edit) my RAW files in lightroom and whenever I export the files to say, flickr the largest size I get is Large and not original. Anyone have a clue what i'm doing? I checked my export and import settings and everything seems to be good. Regardless, just walking around today I took these photos, I liked how they came out:

One last question I have is that when I edit files in lightroom I usually just bump the contrast a tiny bit and I still feel like my photos are grainy when I zoom in. Is that just my settings from when I took the shot or are they grainy just cause i'm shooting on a D3100 (highly doubt thats it though). any help would be great.

Maybe its because its exporting to flickr? without a flickr premium account you cant host the original size.

as for grain, that would most likely be noise, what iso are you shooting at?

Haha I completely forgot you couldn't upload original sizes without a premium account on flickr. Thats definitely the answer to that problem. As for the noise problem, The top two photos were shot at iso 200 and the bottom sunset-ish one was shot at 800. I noticed the most noise in the BMW photo, which was shot at 200, so that shouldn't be an iso problem right? Thank you very much for all your help.

200-500 lens at the zoo through the fence and the help of editing in aperture. you can kind of see the links in the fence out of focus.

^likin that pow shot! but for the car ones, they were a little overexposed. try using manual mode and it will help you get perfect exposures in all situations (because you are in control, not the camera)

I went for a week long trip up to NWT and got a chance to play around with my uncles T2i, such a nice camera!

Cliché.

Not sure how I feel about this one.

Really like this one.

my half brother who I met for the first time.
