jblaskiYes. If you're posting a photo on a public forum, you should EXPECT critiques. If you don't want negative criticism on a photo, stick to posting it on your mom's Facebook wall so she can tell you how wonderful you are. Receiving critiques/criticism is the only way you'll improve your photography.

SklarNice one Emily! I like it alot, although I'd bring up the foreground a bit. it's a tad bit underexposed for me
CheddarJackBrought a near-dead battery camping :)))))
So I made due with my iPhone 5s to catch the sunrise atop Mad River Glen this morning. Critiques welcome!

DoubleFeatureThe deer shot is fantastic!
If you want to improve your mountain shots, do what a good friend of mine (who specializes in landscapes) preached to me. Foreground! Foreground! Foreground! It creates a sense of scale and interest. It gives the image a place to begin instead of just seeing half of a mountain. Trees, rocks, roads, reflections in water...all would make good foreground. Give that roughly the bottom third of your images with the main subject filling the rest. Try that and see what you think next time you're out shooting.
JGWIIt's a meh shot but it was all I was really able to get today. Anyone have any idea how I could have brought more attention to the background, specifically near the horizon line?

Emma_Watsonnice,
where is this?
john18061806Just got a PSA to people who are taking photos in precarious areas like cliffs or urbex. I'm only saying this because I nearly saw a girl die just to get a damn instagram shot. She's spinning around and whipping her hair and flashing model poses not more than a foot from the edge of a 200ft cliff. Since she's not tied into anything she's literally one heel slip away from death.
Keep the badass photography alive and well but if you can find some way to do it safely please do because it's not worth dying for. Bring rope, harness, gear, etc... A photo is not worth your family putting on a funeral for you. It's not worth them thinking you committed suicide. Life is what gives us everything that we live for, don't be so careless about it.
Less of a direct message to anyone, more of something I just needed to say.

SklarThis is tight.
I see a dust spot on your sensor, about 2/3rds of the way up on the left
