My fav of the bunch, but other than it being a tad soft I wish it was framed a bit up and to the left to place the jagged mountains and deer in opposing corners for accentuation purposes.
Or maybe something like this? I'm a sucker for vertical landscapes...

Thanks man. I agree it's a bit soft. It was my first time out with my new tripod. It's super light, but not incredibly stable. I also had it extended all the way with a longer lens (70-300), also contributing to the instability. It'll be awesome for travelling though. I have a trip to Iceland coming up, so I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing before then. Ha ha

Sweet! That's gunna be awesome I'm sure. A tip I've found very useful for when using a tripod, especially a cheap one, is to use a delay or a remote shutter so that you don't capture the initial slight shake from pressing the shutter.

I definitely know it was a bad time. Some other time I'll get up stupid early so I can be there for good light, but not this week. Either that, or I'll just wait until later in the year. Also, I've only been playing with Lightroom for a couple of weeks, so definitely still figuring stuff out.
(No worries. No dick-ishness felt. Only way to get better is input from others!)

I drove with a buddy at 3 am from banff, pulled into the parking lot and slept for 45 mins before running out to beat the asian tourists for the best spot. worth it
Havent been doing much shooting or editing since college started.
Something seems off about the second one...but my pilot friend was saying how he loved it so eh....any tips on them? trying to get back into the swing of things
Glad i had my camera in my trunk. Pulled into a random school parking lot and took a couple of quick shots before the storm hit. Pretty happy with this one.
Sounds like there's some desire for critique, so I'm going to go for it. i think we should be building a community that values peer feedback beyond "nice!"

Just some shots from summer
I think a big thing missing here is interesting perspective and lighting. Those are 2 things that can really bring landscapes to the next level.
For example, the first one, the lighting is harsh mid-day sun. This blows out the falls a bit. Sunrise/sunset/golden hour provide nice soft light, and more interesting tones.
The composition is fine. No glaring flaws IMO, but the perspective looks to be chest level shot at a normal focal length. Carrying over the composition to a wide shot down low, or long to "compress" the FG and the falls could help make a stronger photo
Similar things could be said about the later two

Nice one Emily! I like it alot, although I'd bring up the foreground a bit. it's a tad bit underexposed for me

This is pretty weak compositionally. Lots of cut off pieces, and it seems to be focused on the right brake lever rather than the head badge, which I guess should be the focal point
