Did anyone see this movie?
They hit some crazy gaps, one in Alaska on a big mountain, the in-run was rediculous, and the gap was waaay gnarlier than Chad's, and it was on a MOUNTAIN!
Then they found a new gap in Utah, it looked at least as big as Chad's with way more consequence.
If you get the chance, check this movie out.

You have more stability on 2 board if the base is stable so you can put more weight onto one ski or another to balance. In deep powder if you put to much weigh on one side, this side will sink and that will make you fall.
right???
On a snowboard you float on one contact point so if you angle it, you just turn and manage to ride away without much problem.
I dont think we will be able to beas stable as snowboarders are with fakie landings in powder.
The same problem applies for angulated powder takeoff likethe spines they are jumping off in futureproof
Wide skis are the answer to snowboarding powder landing and take off but I doubt we'll ever be as stable as a snowboard in powder

snowboarders are gonna be ahead of skiers until we have someone in skiing thats equivalent to someone like terje in snowboarding. we need someone who is literally 3 years ahead of the rest of the game. no matter how much someone like tanner hall or pep fujas pushes it, they are not gonna take skiing to the same level as snowboarders. snowboarders are not slowing down their progression. there was a good point brought up earlier regarding the switch 10 that romain does in futureproof. thats a perfect example of where skiing is a couple of years behind snowboarding.

Honestly, there are only about 2 pros doing anything big and switch in pow. Pep and Mahre.
Everyone else doing switch stuff doesn't go very big.

Huge was Andy's zero, 540 and 180 over Pyramid. Huge is Pep's 180 off that cliff. Pollard doesn't do anything close to that, and his skis are 30 mm wider.

im sorry, i always argued this point two years ago, and last year, and still on rails they destroy us (i even snowboard instead if its just flatboxes in the park) but you are fuckin out of your element if you think they are far ahead of us on backcountry jumps, and switch 1080 on a snowboard is comparable to that on skis. Skiing is just as impressive in the backcountry, if not moreso - BB's hits on mary ellen were just as sick as solbergs, and romain still has whack style. Maybe im having a tough time siding with snowboarding this time because for once, the better movie is clearly on the side of skiing. if you think futureproof is a better movie than teddybear crisis than i still think your out of your mind.

Marc Andre does the biggest switch landings in powder in terms of air and speed, look at Soul Purpose and Tangerine Dream.
Also
Futureproof is complete crap compared to pop yer bottlez. How can snowboarding compete against 8th grade level camera work and editing by a drunk whigger? They can't, all snowboard videos will start copying PYB next year. The future is here now and I have seen.
HAHAHA... PYB sucks.

Ummm... its not comparable, because there is nothing to compare it to. No one has ever done a switch 1080 on skis in the BC. Why? Because they are FAR, FAR ahead of us in that department.

switch 1080s ona snowboard and switch 1080s on skis are not comparable beacuse it is so much easier on a snowboard, landing switch and regular are almost (and for many people) the same. Torqueing spins on a snowboard is easier because of your stance, you can shifty a full 180 degrees easy (ie do a 180 and sifhty around to 360 at the last second). Every skier who thinks snowboarding is that far ahead of us should go snowboard for a couple weeks, to realize how easy it is and how out of line thier shit is.

Tomskee, obviously you're out of line. I mean, you just compared Brandon Becker and JP Solberg. And you said that Romain has whack style. Anyone who claims to know as much about snowboarding as you apparently do should never have made either of these claims, considering that these guys are pillars of their sport: a sport that is still far ahead of us, and not just in terms of switch landings in pow.

Taking off and landing switch on a snowboard is easier than skis. Period. Especially in powder.

so true makaio, i rather pop in The Resistance than any ski vid, and it was released in 2000.........lol
and yes futureproof is sick, but i would have to say that the most impressive of all vids this year would be From ____, With Love, that part movie, the travel one isn't too cool
