When I was looking at all of the fischer stuff in hood I was pretty impressed...the skis looked very bombproof and sick. However, they could use a new graphic artist.
Fischer has definitely stepped it up the last couple years for sure. The skis are sick and graphics are getting better. Team is solid too. Derek spong, kyler cooley, richie paradise, aj burton, etc...
keep your eyes peeled for two new park skis from them later this winter
Fischer has always made super stourdy race skis -- so they are well made. They would have more success under a new name -- like Armada being made by Elan. Nobody likes Elan, but Armada kills it. Case and point.
They have been such a reputable brand for over 80 years though, so they would never branch off like that. Plus they make some skis for a bunch of other companies but it is kept pretty hush hush. they are the largest producer of skis. As for freeride stuff the skis are sick, graphics are getting better, but the marketing has been lacking...they have a big push going though the last couple years and are definitely in it.
a friend of mine in germany is sponsored by fischer so i had/have the possibilty to ride some of them and they are really sick....in park as well as in pow
my favourite one is the atua (freestyla and backcountry ski comparable with the arv)if you buy a fischer twintip it is certainly a good decission
I'm pretty curious about fischers twins too, fischer has been around forever but they've never really been in the picture in any big way as far as freeriding goes. Despite this every ski mag I've read so far this year has rated fischers freeride skis higher than any other skis out there so they must be doing something right.
yeah for sure. The Kehua and Atua are sick too, that whole line up is. Their skis have always been great they just didn't have that much presence in the freeski scene, but that is changing.
they are soooooo sick- I ride the rangi and their fatty 106 and I couldn't be happier. Best skis I have ever ridden for sure- I like the graphics, they are unique atleast.
personally i dont like them but they are putting a hundy precent into them and there team they will only get better the eascoast fisher guys are chill and very supportive
they have them at my shop and i will for sure take them out at least once, but i cant say right now. the manager at my shop really likes them and has a lot of faith in the company tho.,
named after the mauri's in New Zealand, very solid line up this year, extremly well made, i would go out on a limb and say they are the best made twin on the market
It took an hour and a half to get 2 edges ripped out. we had a bigass hammer, ended up cutting most of it out. I'd say after that they'd hold up pretty well
When I think of good twins I have trouble thinking of more than LINE, K2, Salomon, Armada, 4Frnt, and Rossignol. But to mention others that are trying to get in there that are good companies been around awhile etc, Atomic, Fischer, Elan, Head, but they just don't seem as popular. I would have a tendency to stay with the first ones mentioned unless the others become more prevalent than they are now in the NS world.
