today i just bought some K2 Escapes, Marker M900 EPS Bindings, Kerma Vevtor Poles and some boots (dont remember the brand) for $400 about. was it a good deal? this is my first time in alpine skiing i use to be in freestyle were i didnt need as spacific things.
are you serious?? i could think of about 20 better ski/binding combos for that price. and what do mean you use to do freestyle? do mean that aerial stunt thing in the olypics? whatever, thats pretty gay in my humble opinion.
freestyle (at least the word i no maybe not in skiing terms) means like you do anything not just go between gates you do jumps, grind all that. like i said first time buying skies
ok all you little punks with like 50 posts trying to look smart, how about you shut it and give the man some advice instead of cutting him down. Im sure you all did extensive research before you bought your first skis...no wait you parents probably just bought em for you.
i personally donw know anything about those skis but it really depends on what kind of skiing your going to be doing. are you planning on going into the park much?
i take offense to that. i know a but load about different skis and what you should pay for them. he didnt ask for advice, he askied for my thoughts and i gave them to him, i would be happy to help him out if he wanted to buy skis but since he already did, what was i to do? oh yeah and my parents did buy my firs paiy when i was entirely new to skiing but since then, i have found what would make the most sense for me. so back off!
umm i dono bout the parks yet. it starts in a week up here and all ive heard is that we practice on the slopes all day and get like 10-20 min freetime at the end. so i dought it with that little time
thats pretty rude and i would take offense to that man.
and how is aerials 'gay'? you pissed you dont have the berries to do it?
and the point about your parents buying your skis wasnt for you to say that you know shit now...it was that you didnt know shit then...so dont cut a new guy down
^fair enough, but hes prob alot older than iwas when i started (i was 5 years old) also, i didnt call the aerials gay. i think its impessive actually. i just think that given his oppertuniteis nowadays, he could of prob picke a better ski. i think that k2 escapes are weak (i have skied them a # of times) and i dont care for them at all (actuall i hate them, but whatever).
a'ight. haha yea im 14 but ive been skiing since i was 10 but i never bought any skies rented all but last year my uncle gave me a pair of really old skies that i broke on a box so ill learn lessions from these this year i bet
Well, since that was probably directed at me, I guess I should reply. First, I wasn't cutting him down... the addition of "no offense" should have cleared up any doubt of that. I've started skiing when I was 4 and I've skied rentals for 15 years since... so when I bought my first pair last year, yes, I did do extensive research.
Also, how am I supposed to give him any really useful advice when he's already bought the skis. I'm really not an expert on skis, but from the looks of the K2 Escapes, they look as though they'd be much better fit for carving groomers than any type of freestyle skiing. The best thing I can tell this guy is that he should hang around NS and do some research... and that's exactly what I told him.
Don't assume superiority based purely on post count, it's offensive and can be completely misleading.
I know, it's damn true. But if this is serious, it's honestly one of the least informative and helpful threads ever. It's gone to shit. I'm not even saying anything after reading through all the replys.
what the fuck...go argue some where else besides a thread this guy made,...i really dont know much about those skis but it does sound like a good deal any set up that adds up to 400 isnt bad at all and who ever said you cant be in the park with out twin tips?
one problem though i dont like is the marker...i guess i havent personally riden them but i have had friends who have and they end up breaking but i suppose thats due to heavy park riding and thats not what they're for
it seems like uv never skies be4...but yeah it depends on ur likings...dont listen to people on this site unless they have something meaningful to say...thats what i have learned
