i bought the new ARV's 2 weeks ago, planning to use them for when i go out west and for all mountain use, because i had the 04/05 AR5's for park...well i just sold the AR5's, not totally sure why, but the whole reason i bought the ARV's was around the AR5's, that i would not need a strong park ski..well it looks like im only going to have 1 ski that i need to be able to do it all on, and i sort of want the MSP's this year but they are pretty stiff and heavier than the ARV's..im light so i dunno about them...i need help because i need to decide if im going to return my ARV's today...i will ski probably 50% groomer 50% park this year, east coast, and will go out to alta for a week...im 5'10" and 135 pounds..
stick with the arv...its fine...just because its a little wider doesnt mean its going to explode if you take it somewhere like the park or the east coast
arv's work fine in park and all around. they arent as park orinented as the ar5, but the arv's will still preform. just save your money and keep your new arv's. they are one of the only skis that will do fine anywhere. no real weakness.
