well you know how a steak knife, has little ridges on it so it can cut better. Well instead on having straight edges they are shaped in a zig zag form. It cuts though anything like butter. Including ice.

for anyone that has ridden their snowboards:
are the edges really catchy on rails? or do they recomend rounding completely underfoot?

Libtech is one of the sickest companies around. The seretated edge idea is great for ice stuff, and the way it waves in and out of the actual sidecut of the ski. They do get dull quicker however (obviously because the metal has to do more physial work by cutting into the ice deeper). And it is a slower ski because of the edges too.
Sick idea for east coasters if you don't mind its drawbacks though. Some other companies have come out with stuff similar to it in the past, and usualy they have been dropped from their product line within 2 years though so i doubt it will be heavily embraced.

according to the rep you're supposed to actually let these edges get dull

The Lib Tech people seem to be saying to let the edges round off and the ski should still hold on hard snow?

from what i hear you can detune the whole ski/snowboard and it will still carve on solid ice because of magnatraction (sp)
