can someone explain a spread system to me cause somehow i bet 5 bucks on Northwestern today i said i give norhtwestern 3 and they one by one AND the kids says i lost.......wtf........explain to me

im not 100% sure but its like if you gave nw 3 points, then they have to win by 3 or more points...and if they lose/win by less than 3 points then you lose your money...im not sure
