hey, i fucked up my shoulder the other day, & think i either dislocated it & popped it back in, or tore a muscle/ligament. whats a popped shoulder feel like after its back in?
it'll be really sore and weak for a couple days, and it will be very prone to popping back out of place for a while. if something still feels weird in a week or two you might have done damage.
be prepared to dislocate it everytime you land "on your side"/"funny" for the rest of your life. I dislocated mine initially about 3 winters ago and I can't even count the times it's popped out since
Yeah, i had a lot of shoulder issues, and ended up getting surgery. My initial reaction is that it should be pretty apparent if it came out or not. Like the first time I dislocated mine imediatly I knew what was up and popped it back into place. In terms of what it feels like afterwards, yeah it will be really sore, you will probably be really scared/or it will be painful to move it much at all. Like serious limited range of motion. You might be more likely to hurt it or do it again, so I would recommend chillin out for a bit, and wait to see how it feels in a little while.
I just had surgery yesterday to repair a separated shoulder. its important to realize that a separated shoulder and a dislocated shoulder are two very different types of injuries. a separation means the shoulder blade and collarbone literally get separated because of a strain/tear to the ligaments that hold them together. dislocations are where the upperarm pops out of the socket (obviously). in my case, a 3rd degree separation is when you totally rip all the ligaments in there and it definitely requires surgery. minor separations or dislocations generally dont require surgry but i strongly advise you see the doctor either way if youre at all serious about sports, skiing or having a fully functional arm again. it sucks man, but at least you get some kick ass painkillers to help pass the time on the couch and when its healed youll be back 100%
yeah man see a doctor for real. That shit will come back to haunt you...the only way of having a chance to get it back to not always popping out/sublocating is to go and have proper physio / surgery....do it
It feels really stiff and if u move it up it will feel like its grinding or either going to pop out again but it depends how u fell on it or which way it popped out
Ive done my shoulder about 5 times... when it pops back in theres just an unbelievable soreness all around your hsoulder and collarbone... it last for about three weeks and then its really prone to popping out again... so yeah.
If you let it heal properly it should be okay. I disco'd my shoulder in 2000, and it healed all nice, hasn't popped out since. Hasn't stopped me from tearing my mcl, and seperating the other shoulder though....
