TGR definately does not appeal to the Newschool crowd nor are they trying to. If you are not into big mountain and such invest your money and time into whoever appeals most to you.

I really liked it! It was fun, had a good flow, good soundtrack, and really good skiing (mark-andre belliveau is incredible). I would say that War is best if your looking for everything from big mountain to park, all done at a high level. Shanghai six is I think the most well done movie, but no big mountain

has anyone seen Stars Skis and Hucks? I imagine that would have some decent, if not good, big mountain skiing in it.

Yeah the big mountain sucked, Nobis on near vertical spines, Dana Flahr throwing rodeo 7's, massive 3's and 7's off huge rocks, stomping everything in Jackson then rocking the step-up at Candide Invitational, Jeremy Jones freefalling AK lines and launching 360's at 60+mph. Terrible stuff, what noobs. I agree Micah isn't at the top of the game, but he is part of what TGR is, he should play a smaller role maybe.

If you didn't like Tangerine Dream and you like big mt....not so sure what you are going to like.
That being said, Echo (Team 13) has some really good big mt. and hucks, and The Waiting Game looks really sick.

Just watching it now, Dash has a sig segment, the way he goes off axis on this super floated out 360's, so mcuh style, so in control. And yes, Dana kills it, Jeremy Jones segment is amazing with a really good song too.

i liked the pyramid gap session and the park part of Peter Olanicks seg.
Mark Andre is insaine and Candide seg aint too bad.
my favorite is sages part when they went to jackson hole (i think) but they had a wicked good song in it by Citizen Cope

THE Tangerine Dream was fucking pathetic. I love big mountain skiing too and it had some decent stuff, but goddamn fucking shit! Who made that "movie"?
Last time I checked TGR was supposed to be leading the ski movie making industry.... ummmm yeah. I loved Soul Purpose, but this years TGR fiasco was a tremendous waste of $400,000. Thats right.
Regressive in every way. I thought filmmakers stopped cutting tricks that weren't landed YEARS ago, but TGR is bringing it back. Soundtrack? Please. Flow, hellowwww, was there any? No. LOTS of mediocre skiing, B rate shots. Sage, your marquis athlete, where was his good segment? And god forbid if anyone ever brings the Olenick sisters to AK again I will cry.
Jonses you should be ashamed.

I think the skiing was excellent, but TGR needs to get a little more creative with the shooting angles and that stuff. Each year they step it up with killer action, but they never change their shooting style or stuff like that.

overall the movie was great, but sage's first two tricks were cut kind of like warren miller used to do. also i don't like how they show the jeep all the time, like warren always showed the nissan

I thought TGR was super sick. It had some killer talent. Hands down, Dana "Chuff" Flahr, Nobis, Jeremy Jones, killed it in true fashion. MSP's "Shit List" was no surprise, same shit different year, didnt really impress me at all. TBC and WAR has some of the best editing of the year. I still think Tangerine Dream was the cream of the crop this year. But MSP will still win it because they pay off the judges every year.
Fuck I hate MSP. Just please make a movie that is different than your last.

its really funny how stupid you are. like seriously, you should look at what your wrote.
first off, it shows that you have very little skiing talent because obviously you dont respect big mountain skiing and the actuall skiing skill, such as turning, plotting lines, and catching air, than just throwing yourself of a tabletop in the park. not saying that dosnt take skill, and i respect people who are good at it. but the pro big mountain skiers are much better actually skiers than pro park rats.
secondly, its sad that youv never skiied big mountain. it sucks that your missin it and im sad for you. once youv skiied a steep or rode a band of cliffs or get going over 40 or 50mph on a line, you appreciate what Morrison, Sage, Mkconkey and even Nobis are doing. this type of skiing takes more balls than anyone in your park has.
so next time you decide to diss on big mountain skiing, wake up buddy. just cus your stuck in the east, and dont have good snow, dosnt mean you have to be a penis brain.

yay i like other people that like big mountain stuff. although i live on long island, i dream about going to alaska or somewhere in europe or even just like jackson or somewhere. i really wish i could be out west or in alaska to actually experience it.

do it someday, come to alaska. itll be the best experience youll ever have haha. and dude, no joke, youll earn a respect for us freeskiers and big mountain riders. everytime you see a big mountain clip in a movie, youll know how hard that is, and gain a respect for everything they do. its not exactly easy to think when your goin 30 and about to jump over a rock band.

jeremyt nobis's comment at the end of tangerine dream that last winter "he progressed himself and by that progressed the sport" was a fucken cocky thing to say. fuck nobis he's no where near the top of the skiing game. he's a good big mountain rider but not even close to the best. the rest of the movie was sick though?

i never said he was the top of the sport. i said he was good. and it was a cockey thing to say. i lke some of his skiing, not all. really liked his spine work and his steeps. but yea, im gonna have to say sage is one of the top freeriders at the moment. he includes big lines with spins. morrison has always been good and boss. mkconkey is under-rated i think. his skiing talent isnt shown in movies, only his base jumping usually.
