ok skiinator, it's getting old...


well, this one time, I was like 13, and I was going down the kiddie run really fast to piss people off and I cought an edge that pulled me right into one of those fucking tunnels real fast and real sideways...so I panicked and layed back on my skis. Bad idea, when I hit the wall I slid up the back of my skis and cought a rear binding right in the nads. It hurt soo bad, I couldn't even walk. I had a huge bruise for a few weeks and I had to go to the doctor and stuff...it sucked.

torn right acl, tore sternum away from rib cage (torn cartiledge), twice broken thumb (right thumb...it's all slanted now cuz i kept racing with it broken after i took the cast off myself), compressed my sternum an inch (bellyflop from 30 ft to flat), broken jaw, cracked orbital bone and several serious concussions (serious enough that i was knocked out and woke up in the hospital :-)

broke 2 bones in my hand the first day of the season, then in the following 2 months while wearing the cast, i re-fractured those bones 3 times skiing. got a glove that fit over the cast and taped the pole to my hand. but hey, i had fun.

I've been pretty lucky..

Blacked out once from a fall, bruised my heels on multiple occasions, sprained wrists and thumbs, did something to my medial meniscus. I get shooting pains through my knees and hips for no apparent reason. Basically nothing that'll affect me until arthritis sets when i'm around 30.

my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

ok no offens eot any one but i think i have done some pretty stupid stuff skiing and the only injuries i have gotten are bruises and scrapes........... so all of you with really bad injuries something tells me you were doing something really dumb and that is nothing to be proud of.

my only real skiing injury was cracked vertabrae and torn miniscus after landing in the flats off the waterfall at stowe...didn't realize either of them 'til later though.

becca. um your post wasntvery well thought over. you just called all these people who posted with injuries dumb and stupid for skiing. im sorry but i hate to down play a female skier.. but WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN THROWING DOWN? i bet most of these guys are throwing/atempting/trying tricks that you ahvent been. and the harder the skill the higher the risk at getting bigger injuries.. think a little bit.

i know becca personally and she throws down hard, she does rails, backs, 3's, and a ton of grabs, so don't know her, she's just trying to get a point across....


and i've dislocated a thumb, couple fingers, really bad ingrown toenails from to-small boots, um...bruised heels and stuff like that,

dumb is a completly relative term. Dumb is doing something without having a clue what your doing, or exceeding you limits...like if i were to try to be cool like seth and huck a rodeo off an 80 foot cliff..that would be dumb. Getting hurt is part of learning...if you're not falling you either have incredible talent or you're not pushing yourself hard enough.

split my chin open, 6 stitches i think, and shattered my left forearm, broke radious and ulna bones. 60 stitches, 2 plates, and 10 screws. Took about 5 months to recover.

fractured ribs, broke both my arms like iannick b. my left leg. that one was brutal my tib and fib slide in between eachother and my leg was like 5 inchs shorter than the other one. destroyed my kneecap fratured my hand, broke my thumb. broken nose, concussion and 3 stiches on the noggin. it all sucked. oh and nutted myself on a rail and my right testicle swelled to the size of a baseball. that hurt more than anything.

i spiral fractured my lower leg straightlining a mogul run in flat light four years ago. caught air off a mogul, lost my balance in the air my ski got stuck in the snow and i rotated 360 around my leg. just last saturday i fractured my humerous (upper arm) on a ba ckcountry boooter. over rotated and the coverage was sketchy, mi landed on my side but my arm fractured bover a rock and got bent behind my body, it was completely dislocated mid shaft and was dangling an pivoting aroun a point about 5cm above my elbow, my friend had to hold and support my arm while wee walked in bounds. i wrote this with my left hand by the way
