I think that newschoolers.com could go huge....If we got the word out about this site, it could have a massive role in the skiing industry. Not only that, but it would be able to unite, in a way, all newschool skiers, which could cause skiing to stay close to its roots,even when it takes off like snowboarding did....To start this, i think we need to start doing as much as we can to get the name out there: i.e posters/stickers covering as many mountains as possible and more adds in magazines...So, if u get ur acts together all u guys who run NS, i think that this could get huge

We're trying! Time and money is usually the problem... but it is growing.

The most important thing you can all do is make sure that people on the hill know about NS. That's the best form of advertising there is!

I really want to get bigger internationally. What we need is different languages...

I think that It's already pretty huge...
but it's still growing day after day and that's great!. BUt Doug about the languages don't you think it would divide NS into country and like kill the internationality of ns

If it gets that big, then there will have to be more regional stuff. So like regional NS would be in your language, and then international NS could be in english...

We're definitely talking way down the road here, but it would be cool.

as long as it doesn't get too big, its alreayd kind of big, which pushes me to the cults more and more often. It would be nice if when you sign up, you say where you are from, and thne when you go to forums ,your regional area forum shows up, instead of having to go throug ha whole convoluted thign to tget tehre.

is ther some kind of way to translate everything on a site to the language of the person on their comp? so evveryone wouldbe reading in their language, no matter what language the people are writing in.

I think it's doing quite well. 70 thousand members and growing, and it apears in many of the ski movies. But it could be so much bigger. Get some stickers, some advertisments, magazine ads, and word of mouth, and this site could blow up. That would just create alot more hostility and hate on the forums though. I kind of like NS when it was small.

What would be in different languages... the news, park and team updates, or more? I'm sure plenty of people would be more than willing to translate those for free, including me (into French). Plus stuff like the help section, FAQ, History, etc.

I'd really love to hear how many members are active. At least logging in once a month during the winter. Is it even close to 70,000?

If they aren't sticking around, it suggests something is not sticky enough to keep them on the site, and that problem should be tackled before promoting the site to more people.

I think the site already has a a big role in the industry. I mean, when something that is rumor about something gets posted, threats of lawsuits have been known to fly our way.

I say have different languages so you could specify what language you want when you sign up. That way the whole site is always in a language you can understand.
