was in Italy this past summer. im 17 btw. chill place. Some Advice:
1. Don't get into fights with the gondolier guys..
2. The police are corrupt, well the one's we fucked with
3. If you're with friends.. get drunk.. everywhere.
4. Don't let the people in Florence rip you off, we bardered from 10 euro, to 1 euro. they think American's are easy (well some of us are) dont give in!
5. if you're in Florence, go to some of the huge piazza's very cool places..
6. have fun! you're in Italy!
i personally dont really like Italy, but it's because im not an artsy kind of stuff fan at all and i've only been to Tuscany, but Tuscany is really beautiful, lots of wine, good food,...
People like to speak loud there too.
And do not pronounce the word mafia or your parents will be slaughtered within the next hour.
Florance is awesome. and the clubs are so much fun. Definatly eat alot of gelato in my opinion Florance has the best gelato places in all of Italy. Take a walk down the old bridge, it's so cool even if your not into shopping. and go to the academia (where david is), Florance was so much fun.. I want to go back to Italy so much
Italy is amazing...I spent a couple weeks there when I was 16 and it was awsome.
Some tips:
1.If you are into site seeing..wait out the lines...there are usualy lines for a reason
2.Wine is cheaper than pop thus drink wine
3. Eat lots of gellato's -so good
4. When eating at restraunts make sure you know what things cost before you order
5. If driving be super aggressive other wise you won't move more than a foot
6. Stay at smaller local places...almost bed breakfast size...that way you experience more of the culture and usualy you get a breakfast (which is overpriced but oh so good).
I HAVE A GREAT STORY ABOUT ITALY!! I personally LOVE Italy.
Ok so my friend who we will call "C" has this "good good friend of his" who is lookin for some weight. So of course "c" comes to me and asks to et it. So I call up "s" and I arrange it, a QP of nugget for 1150. We didn't know this kid at all, only "C." so we roll to a house out in Mayfield and proceed up to this house where the kid is waiting outside. HE comes up to the drivers side, "C" driving, I was shotgun, "S" was behind me in the back.
Dude asks to see the weed and "S" is tellin "C" "money money money money money" dude keeps askin to see the weed so "S" hands it to me and is still sayin I want cash first. So "C" takes it off of my lap and hand it to dude and he runs.
A month later "C" went to italy with his grandmother and his younger brother. He was in 1100 dollars worth of debt. So he stole it from a man in italy. He stole the mans wallet, took the money, dropped the wallet. Came back, gave me the money, (I will send a pic if u would like)
I paid "S" and no one got killed by head honcho. I LOVE ITALY!!!!!!
italy was sick, i went to venice, rome, and florence. i sugges going to venice and rome over florence. florence is mostly for buying stuff for chicks. like leather and stuff. but overall italys sick
I've been to Italy, and I've been to Flourince, But i prefer our home town GiriFalco in Calabria ( the south, its were all the fiesta and parties are at) In the north, girls are al tight.
But Flouricine is amazing, everything is walking distance, and if anything buy anything with gold down there, cause its nice and not expensive too.
Cops don't care about shit. Just get drunk cause there is no age limit, I bought a beer at McDonalds! At fucking McDonalds.
Italy supprised me. I was expecting the culture and people, despite their loudness, to be refined like their art and architecture...unfortunatly nothing could be further from the truth. While the places were all amazing, Florence being on the top of my list, the people were rude, arrogent, loud and crass. Their cultural egoism is resting on the haunches of their predecessors that really did accomplish amazing things. The Italy of today is politically confused, culturally self-rightious, and economically drowning.
So in short my tips to you are: Enjoy Florence, it is one of the most beautiful cites in the world, the art and architecture there are second to none. But when it comes to the people...just do your best to ignore their big dirty heads.
perfect. i was just there for the past two weeks in rome, florence and the amalfi coast and it was fucking awesome. yes, drink lots of lemoncello!!!!!!
