I'm a midwest skier(shitty deal), and I'm looking to move somewhere out west next year for school. I want to go somewhere within a hour of a good ski resort. Any suggestions?
Snoqualmie Pass - 45 min
Stevens Pass - 75 min
Mt Baker - 1.5 hours
Crystal Mountian - 1.5 hours
Crystal and Baker have hotels and such that you can rent for cheap to stay a weekend. UW is also a great university, really diverse, cool area and a great campus. The least you should do is check it out.
there is absolutely no school that compares to Montana State University when it comes to skiing. Bridger Bowl is 20 minutes from campus and Big Sky is an hour. You can virtually ride everyday. I don't care what anyone says, there is no other school like that. Boulder, CO is definately dope, though not as close to the mountains, it does have access to like...7 resorts. But they're all at least an hour away and you gotta be rich to go to school there outta state. so ya, that's the word muthafucka
atleast somebody realizes what UNR has to offer. all of tahoe accecssable in 30 mins- 1.5 hours and mammoth and June a little over 2 hours away. A large party scene with casinos and 24 hour liquor sales. What more could you want?
First off, it is CU, not UC. Secondly, the closest mountian is 30 minutes away. Thirdly, there are some definite pluses of it being expensive- Everyone has houses at the resorts. My roommate has a house on the mountian in Breck, my neighbor has a house in Vail, one of my best friends has a house in Winter Park, another one of my friends has a house in Copper. You don't go up for a day, you go for the weekend, although there is stuff close enough to ski on a week day. Boulder is a better town than Salt Lake and Colorado is a better state than Vermont. Go to CU
actually its one of the highest rated colleges in the US. Best film and archetecture programs and in the top few mechanical engineering. So yea it is as good if not better/
