littleman34I plant trees in northern ontairo for the summers. Pretty rough some times but overall its a sweet job. You get paid 13 cent per tree so you gotta pound those fuckers in to make a decent wage. It's nice to be up in the wild for a while, kinda get a break from normal life and society and all.
DTetzBro frik yah I planted for 2 summers in undergrad. Hella good job especially when you ball. I planted in BC- what’s your PB?? This job is hella slept on I liked it a lot!!

littleman34I've planted only in Ontario, we mostly plant jack pine, and black spruce. Everyone I talk to about planting always says BC is where it's at though! good prices and good people is what I hear. My pb is 6275, it was in some beautiful sandy furrows. Where were you going to school when you planted? Did you travel up to BC?
DTetzBro that’s sick! I did my undergrad in Alberta- I used to go home to BC for summer and would plant around the province- mostly Prince George. Land in BC can be pretty sharby/rocky sometimes, it’s a lot more effort mentally to have smooth movement. Usually planting pine, fur and spruce. I really enjoyed planting hills and navigating the terrain efficiently. If you ever want a spot on the crew I’ve got some good contacts. From the Ontario people I’ve met they’ve said they basically need to relearn how to plant in BC because of how different it is, but like it because you bend over less for good wage. I did 5k second year @15cents and was super happy with that. Forced to quite as schools year round now and I’m down in SoCal.
TheMoostafianI cut down all the trees these guys planted.
Falling trees and climbing is the most fun thing I've ever done. Gonna do it as long as im physically able. Also very stoked for pro faller work on wildland fires next summer.
Close second was working as a forester - I was a timber cruiser on the Olympic Peninsula for a while. Made really good money as a college student walking around in the woods all day measuring and identifying trees. Did some other forestry consulting but cruising timber was my favorite.
littleman34Bending over less sounds pretty good. After a season my back and legs seem to kill. I've been playing around with the idea of going out west but I think I wanna give Ontario at least one more year, hopfully as a crew boss this summer. Were you guys planting on heli blocks up in prince rubert? If not you should check in on some of your pieces! make sure that quality was good haha
