Ok, I'm going to get some new skis this year, and I want something that will be good in the park, but I'll probably mostly be spending time on the rest of the mountain. I love the Volkl Karmas, but they're expensive. I like last years Atomic Tweaks too, and they have a much more managable price. Both seem to be a pretty good fit for what I want to do. I know most of you will say the Karma is better, but is it $200 better? And has anyone by chance skied both and compared the two? Any input is appreciated. Thanks
ive demoed the Karma but havnt ridden the tweak. Ive talked to the Volkl Rep about the technology behind the ski and all i can say, is that Volkl doesnt have a rep for one of the tightest ski companys out there for nothing. You get what you pay for and its as simple as that.
Just spend the extra green on the Karma's. Volkl's will last longer, feel stronger and rider smoother. Anyways. The construction of the Karma is more solid in my eyes than the Tweak.
^ Do you really know what you're talking about with regards to the Tweak?
The Karma's are wicked skis. I love my tweaks but if money is not an issue then go for the Karma's. Although, I'd save the 200$ and get the tweaks. The tweaks are a solid ski, despite what buddy above me thinks, the tweaks are well made. Atomic has been in the industry along time. My only real complaint about the tweaks is that the topsheet scratches really easily.
i dont mind them but i like karmas much better. the tail in mine is insanely stiff(i actually have rodeos which are same with diff topsheet)and the tip pretty soft. They are pretty durable though.
