Technology: How do you fix the "error downloading codec"

I got a bike movie of myself and my friend from my firend, and i tried to play it on Windows media, and it plays the audio, but then it says err downloading codec and just doesnt play the video. Help?

Do you know what codec it is? Cuz you can just download it yourself.
