Pavel Bure, aka the 'Russian Rocket', retires.

Yep. It's a somewhat sad day in hockey. Bure was the best pure goal scorer in his time, and led the charge of europeans in the 90's, in the NHL.
And apparently, he is already GM of the Russian Olympic team, which is interesting.

Yeah, I saw that on TSN.ca. Not really surprised he retired cause he's been outa hockey for so long but never would have figured he would GM the russian team. Never knew he was that kind of player. I always thought of him as a flashy play for himself russian.

Ah... I shall mourn the passing of Pavel "No Knees" Bure by ramming feet first into the wall of a hockey rink tonight, thereby putting myself out for the season. AGAIN.

Pavel was only good in Vancouver and the first couple years in Florida. But he was never the same after he left Vancouver.

yeah. he had back to back 60 goal seasons in vancouver, and when he left, his productivity declined to 59 and 58 goals a season.
but you are right, he was pretty useless other than that.
