How big is your buddy?
I thought the Pollards were an amazing ski.

we need some specs on your buddy homie...im 6'2" n about 185lbs or so and i bought the 186cm pollards and they're DOPE for me...can go like mach speeds and have control, skinny enough for park, fat and stiff enough for out of bounds shreddin...and i bet they're cheaper than gettin the sprayers...havn't tried them though

i'd go with pollards. I think the quality is better... and the flex is probably better for a bigger guy too. But whatever.. its all his preference.

construction wise the pollards-in my opinion-are better...fatty base n edge is what got me on them...plus they're stiff as hell, much stiffer than scratches

They're just last year's BC. They're fine. I'd still rather have pollards though.

^they are definetly not just last year's bc. They're an all wood core, no thc, softer. They also retail now for what you can buy last years bc for, obviously not the same quality. Same dimensions, but that's it.

That's very true, wood core. My oversight, sorry. "They're like a scratch Eco version of last year's BC" would have been more accurate. I've seen/held them a bunch of times, they feel solid enough. Certainly not cheap ass sticks by any means, they'll be good. And a wood core isn't a bad thing anyway. If you wanted a pair of skis to use for a bunch of purposes and didn't want to worry too much about beating up on them, that might be the way to go. But I think a 182 sprayer would still be a good 1 ski quiver for those without a lot of $ to throw around. It seems like they're the Fujatives of all-around skis. I'm in favour.
