i was just wondering how many kids on here were racers before they started freeskiing, how many started their skiing career freeskiing, and how many converted from some other snow sport???
personally i was a freeskier from the start. ive never raced however i probabaly would have if i didnt have to drive 3 hrs to the closest hill worth riding, and i never did have the desire to even try snowbaording

I was a racer up until three years ago. I enjoyed it, but what I get from this feels so much more natural. I have no regrets about racing, though. There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be at the same level had I not raced.

I was your usual rec skier, then caught on to Mike Douglas's "Air Carving" Craze.
Yea that's right i had a pair of Salomon Axecleavers with the riser plate.
(If you don't remeber this craze it's cause im older than you)
The axecleavers where so heavy when 'jibbing' around so
Then Line Came out with Skiboards, and i was like hey, that looks kinda cool, got a pair, and sold them within a month. As i realized they sucked.
Then I was like Mike D and the new canadian air force gotta be up to something? I saw the movie 13 the week it came out, sold my axecleavers, and Head XR's
and bought a pair of the original K2 Enemies.
And have been through a few twins since that time till now.
Never raced, A that's my Ski Story.

Racer for 16 years, enjoyed the competition, plus it gives you about a strong a base to work on as you can get. Definitely helps in the big mountain type of skiing I enjoy now.
