i think hes talking about the thing like before the name it would be like .5 i guess and i think thats like how wide it goes out or something im not sure..wides are nice tho mine will be here wednesday and i might get a fish to idn yet.
.5 is a focal length mulitplier. you take the focal length of your lens and times it by .5. And according to canon a "wide angle" lens has a maximum focal length (35mm equiv.) of 35mm.
It depends of many things... What's your photographic equipment ?
I mean, whats the crop factor of your body? I have the Canon 20D and it has a crop factor of 1.6. I have a fisheye (0.43x) and it's not enough. I also have a 17-40mm lense from Canon which I love alot. Check out this lense buddy, it owns!
yeah I have a 17 -35 f2.8 all the way through for my nikon and I totally dig it. This is for video not cameras, I don;'t know if thats what your talkin about I have never filmed w/ a fish eye tho. And just want to have something on my HDR that looks good and not too distorted, but still a little bit and way wide angle.
.5x would technically mean 1/2 the standard image zoom of a flat lense, or 2x the image u can see and .3x is usaully the lowest wideangle/fisheys go, or the most it exagerates the image.
for example the widest lense you can buy is the century optics mk1 death .3x lens, but my wideangle raynox mx3k whihc is .3x is not as wide so it depends on the lense it self.
