Whistler for spring break

I was thinking about coming out to Whistler for my senior spring break, and I was wondering how the conditions are typically the first week of April. Are they pretty iffy or ok? Is most of the mountain open at that time typically? Thanks a lot.

last year we had 4 meters of fresh in march and april...and you didnt

normally is great last year it was the best skiing for the whole year and they had the most open.

Awesome, thats kind of what I thought, just wanted to make sure.
For any of you living in the northwest region what are some other good ski areas that you would recommend? I have a friend in Sand Point, Idaho. I was thinking of flying to Spokane then going skiing from there for a week. Some thoughts I had were: Whistler, Fernie, Kickinghorse, Banff area. Where would you ski if you were coming to this general area for the first time for a week?

whistlers a long ass way from sandpoint, like 8-10 hours. sandpoint the local choices are schweitzer and silver... which are both kind of OK... i think schweitzer usually hooks up a decent park... you can go south like 4 hours to tamarack which is big and new and supposedly pretty sick. or go west to alpental about 5 hours. none of htem are whistler, but none will take an entire day to get to. i dont know how far whitewater and kicking horse and all those are... probably pretty close.

What we were thinking of doing is driving somewhere and staying there for a week but 16-20 hrs of driving round trip is a bit much. Is Whistler worth that? None of you mentioned anything about Fernie which is pretty close to Sandpoint I think. I wouldn't think they would have a great park, but I am going to be getting my share of park skiing when I go to Breck, Vail, Keysone and Copper in Feb.

lower revelstoke is only onpen from what i believe. go to red mountain rather then fernie, its dryer. if you could tour the mountains in the kootenays (red, whitewater, fernie) i would do that over a trip to whistler any day of anyyear
